This was my top lobster roll based meal in the Bar Harbor area. I really enjoyed everything here. Had lobster bisque, peekytoe crab cakes, and of course the main course a great lobster roll with an Old Soaker Blueberry Soda to wash it all down.

This place is great. The service was quick, meal was delicious, and cool breezes coming off the water. The town is fun to explore as well and everyone is so friendly.

Is it possible to get a quality lobster roll outside of the New England area? The answer is yes and the surprising destination is Quincy’s Original Lobster Rolls on the boardwalk of Ocean City, NJ. You wouldn’t expect the high quality of product they are putting out here and they are quite competitive in price compared to those in the New England area for the amount of meat provided. So be sure to add this food group to fries, pizza, funnel, and ice cream when you visit the beach at the #JerseyShore.

With a tiny patio to dine you can a view of the busy main street of town while enjoying a great Virginia ham and swiss on a toasted bun. They people there were so friendly and seemed to really enjoy what they were doing singing while bringing the order out and being as nice as possible.

This is an old school dining destination that has had a recent upgrade. The food is delicious and of course you have to go with the grilled fresh mountain trout seasoned and grilled over an open flame with sides of sauteed mushrooms and onions and green beans. Everything was great and you should check it out when there.

A really cool place to visit as all of the plates, cups, etc. are made here as well as making all their own breads and a lot of other things. The french onion soup was just amazing and I could have eaten the entire crock of it. As had the shrimp and grits with celery and bell peppers. Served on Old Mill’s creamy cheddar cheese grits and topped with crumbled bacon, green onions and parmesan cheese and it was above average.

I really enjoyed my meal here. This place is packed on a daily basis and there is a good reason why. They are putting out a great product with nice and personable service. The crab bisque was fantastic, sauteed mushrooms delectable, and prime rib a good size and value as well as steamed broccoli.

What a treat this place was. I had their prime rib cheesesteak with fired onions, mushrooms, peppers, house cheese, and fries. This sandwich was so good I only wish they were closer as they could compete with any cheesesteak place in and around the Philadelphia area as it was better than the vast majority I eat around here. Highly recommended to visit if around the area. It was cooked perfectly.

A newcomer to the always evolving dining scene in Collingswood is Albertino’s by the way of South Philly and a short stint in Berlin, NJ. They are completely family run establishment with everyone getting involved one way or another. The ambiance is low-key, yet welcoming. Service made you feel like you were a part of the family and dining at their own home being pleasant and friendly. Their was a tiny hiccup with timing from the kitchen as it seemed to be an hour or even longer from appetizer to main course being served with only two parties dining in the restaurant at the time so the wait wasn’t due to an influx of orders. The appetizer was Gamberi e Calamari Rustico – jumbo shrimp, calamari, black olives, plum tomato sauce, calabrian chile, white wine that was average in my opinion. Even though there was a long wait for the entree of Vitello di Albertino – thinly pounded domestic milk-fed, artichoke hearts, sun-dried tomatoes, jumbo lump crab, demi glace, white wine, light cream it was a delicious treat and definitely recommend the dish for anyone that visits. I would give Albertino’s another try as I am interested to try more of the menu to see if they could become one of my regular destinations.

Jargon sits in West Asheville area and it is like a copy of walking through Fishtown Philadelphia. Such cool places to shop and eat and the vibe very chill. The food was delicious and service was top notch during my visit. Started things out with their version of Jean-Claude Van Damme food having Mussels and Brussels. PEI mussels with ramp tops, spring onion, tasso, and fennel broth and crispy brussels sprouts with pickled carrots, country ham, and apple butter. Main course was North Carolina trout with rapini, caramelized fennel puree, fingerling chips, beurre blanc, and braised short rib with goat chese polenta, Mars Hill mushrooms, wilted greens, and natural jus.
