Thirsty Whale Tavern – Bar Harbor, ME

I was really surprised here. Just thought maybe a fancy bar, but the food was amazing. Their cheesesteak sandwich was so good. It had beer cheese, pickled onions, and chucks of beef with fries cooked perfectly. I highly recommend a visit here and to give this place a try.

Geno’s Chowder & Sandwich Shop – Portsmouth, NH

This place has a wonderful waterfront location that you can watch lobstermen bring their fresh catch of the day in to the marina and loaded directly into a refrigerated truck. They also have a Clam Chowder that is just overflowing with clams and a very meaty lobster roll. Service was friendly and prices reasonable.

I had the New England clam chowder that was ok, and a lobster roll that was filled generously with meat and decent fries. The roll could have been better toasted, but it was still a really good meal.

This was my top lobster roll based meal in the Bar Harbor area. I really enjoyed everything here. Had lobster bisque, peekytoe crab cakes, and of course the main course a great lobster roll with an Old Soaker Blueberry Soda to wash it all down.

With a tiny patio to dine you can a view of the busy main street of town while enjoying a great Virginia ham and swiss on a toasted bun. They people there were so friendly and seemed to really enjoy what they were doing singing while bringing the order out and being as nice as possible.

This is an old school dining destination that has had a recent upgrade. The food is delicious and of course you have to go with the grilled fresh mountain trout seasoned and grilled over an open flame with sides of sauteed mushrooms and onions and green beans. Everything was great and you should check it out when there.

Pottery House Cafe & Grill – Pigeon Forge, TN

A really cool place to visit as all of the plates, cups, etc. are made here as well as making all their own breads and a lot of other things. The french onion soup was just amazing and I could have eaten the entire crock of it. As had the shrimp and grits with celery and bell peppers. Served on Old Mill’s creamy cheddar cheese grits and topped with crumbled bacon, green onions and parmesan cheese and it was above average.
