Was recently advised of a new restaurant Grand Opening that for some reason has been completely under the radar and not well known. Well after my visit there, they should be in the lineup for anyone that lives around that area to try. The service was very friendly, prices were decent for the quality and quantity of food, and they are next to a municipal parking lot making it easier to get to them on the busy road they sit on. The interior is nicely done for how tiny the location is. They are 99% take-out only as it looked like a total of around 10 seats with about 4-5 tables available for a cozy and tight dining experience if you decided to eat there. Tried a little bit of everything and it was all top notch. I had their shrimp fried rice that was packed with shrimp and very flavorful, Beef Drunken Noodles and the beef was a step above most places as it seemed it was fresh sliced and a really nice texture with a good balance throughout, the Beef Pad See Ew was fantastic, Steamed Crab Cakes were good little morsels to pop in your mouth, Lemongrass Soup was very tasty and had a profile popping with all sorts of tastes and nice slices of chicken, Panang Curry with chicken was solid, and the Thai Tea that was given as a gift for coming in and having to wait just a few minutes while everything was ready was so nice of them and best part is was a yummy treat. They might not be well known right now, but I have a feeling the more people who visit, word will get out. If ever around the area, they are a great addition to the food scene and you should give them a try.

Many people around the Collingswood area were sad a few months ago to hear about the closing of The Tortilla Press which was around for over 20 years. Have no fear about where you should go for Taco Tuesday though as a little further down the road on Haddon Ave is La Catrina Mexican Restaurant and I think you will really enjoy a visit there. The service is as friendly as it gets feeling like you are welcome into their home and it’s no surprise as La Catrina is a fully family run operation with Jose Medina, Gloria Palillero, Geovanni Farfan-Perez, and Maria Palillero combining the many flavors of Mexico and bringing them to South Jersey. Maria is from Puebla, Geovanni is from Mexico City, and then mix over a decade of working in and around Philadelphia restaurants and you’ll find the perfect combination of authentic Mexican as well as a bit of American inspired meals and tastes here. The decor is lively and adds a nice flair to the ambiance. My meal was Cecina Tacos which is salty Mexican beef with sauteed onion and grilled cactus that was fantastic and an order of Al Pastor Tacos with the pork perfectly seasoned and pineapple complimenting the taco spot on. Really enjoyed my entire experience and will be back to try more of the menu.

Michael Corsetti got a following in the festival and event circuit with his fire roasted sweet corn. He opened a brick and mortar location with his corn being the name and adding a menu of bbq themed items. I had their Siracha honey wings, butter corn, spinach, baked beans, brisket Mac and cheese, whole rack of ribs, and corn bread. Prices were slightly below average which was a nice surprise with so many places being more than expected and the service was timely as they are take out only and had everything ready the exact time requested. The Franklinville Inn is a renowned restaurant known for its elegant and charming atmosphere, exceptional cuisine, and rich history. The inn has been serving customers since 1786, making it one of the oldest continuously operated restaurants in the United States. The restaurant is housed in a historic building that exudes rustic charm and has been carefully preserved to maintain its traditional appeal. The interior features exposed brick walls, wooden beams, and a cozy fireplace, creating a warm and inviting ambiance for guests. Service was top notch as was the food as well. I started out the crab bisque that was out of this world. This crab bisque is a luxurious and creamy soup that showcases the delicate and sweet flavors of crab meat with a smooth and velvety consistency allowing the flavors of the crab meat to shine. My entree was the queen cut prime rib. It was a perfectly cooked, rosy pink interior, with juices flowing and an enticing aroma filling the air. Each bite was tender, succulent, and full of robust beef flavor. The marbling of fat throughout the meat added richness and depth to every mouthful. It was great! This sides of sherry mushrooms which were a delicious and savory dish combining the earthy flavors of mushrooms with the distinct sweetness and nuttiness of sherry wine and mashed sweet potatoes with cinnamon sugar butter were perfect compliment to the meal. Highly recommend a meal here.
