This Sunday, July 30th at 635pm Small Bites with Glenn Gross and Derek Timm of Bluejeanfood.com on Wildfire Radio has a really fun lineup. We welcome in studio Dave Goldman and Tom Revelli Jr. the owners of Urban Village Brewing Company at The Schmidt’s Commons They have craft beer brewed on-site and paired with delicious breads and brick oven pizzas made from naturally fermented yeast dough – a first for Philadelphia. Yummy!

Then we have Erin James. Erin is the Editor-in-chief of CIDERCRAFT Magazine and Sip Northwest Magazine. She is also the author of “Tasting Cider” from Storey Publishing. This complete guide to North America’s oldest beverage celebrates hard cider’s rich history and its modern makers, as well as its deliciously diverse possibilities. Flavor profiles and tasting guidelines highlight 100 selections of cider — including single varietal, dessert, hopped, and barrel-aged — plus perry, cider’s pear-based cousin.

All this drinking has me getting hungry. Well we also will talk to Matt Moore of Have Her Over For Dinner and the author of “The South’s Best Butts: Pitmaster Secrets for Southern Barbecue Perfection” from Time Inc. Books. In The South’s Best Butts, food writer and Southern gentleman, Matt Moore, waves away clouds of smoke to give barbecue-lovers a sneak peek into the kitchens and smokehouses of a handful of the Barbecue Belt’s most revered pitmasters. He uncovers their tried-and-true techniques gleaned over hours, days, and years toiling by fire and spit, coaxing meltingly tender perfection from the humble pig-the foundation of Southern BBQ. More than a book of recipes, Matt explores how the marriage of meat, cooking method, and sauce varies from place to place based on history and culture, climate, available ingredients and wood, and always the closely-guarded, passed-down secrets followed like scripture.
