IT’S OUR ANNUAL BBQ THEMED SHOW AND A SHOW SO BIG IT IS CLOSE TO 3 HOURS LONG WITH SOME THE BIGGEST NAMES IN THE FOOD INDUSTRY!!!!

D and L Coffee Service Inc. presents Small Bites Radio the #1 listed “Food Radio show Philadelphia” and #1 listed “Food Radio show South Jersey”. We had a fantastic conversation with Ryan Mitchell at 01:05:50 of episode, the son of Ed Mitchell known as ‘The Pitmaster’ in barbecue circles. The-Pitmaster-ED-Mitchell has been cooking whole-hog barbecue the traditional way since he was a teenager in Wilson, North Carolina. Ryan Mitchell, Ed’s only son, serves as the business savvy brain behind his father’s brand and we chat about the newly released cookbook ‘Ed Mitchell’s Barbeque: Celebrating the Eastern North Carolina Whole Hog Barbeque of my African American Ancestors’ published by Ecco. This book is a celebration of the history and tradition of whole-hog barbeque from the “most famous” pitmaster in North Carolina. Ed Mitchell’s Barbeque is filled with delicious and essential recipes honed over decades. And, of course, there is the barbeque—mouth-watering baby back ribs, smoked pork chops, backyard brisket, and barbequed chicken—all paired with lively and warmly told stories from the Mitchell family. Ed Mitchell’s Barbeque is rich with the history of Wilson, North Carolina, and yet promises to bring barbeque to the next level that you can see at ThePreserveBBQ by LMhospitality, and you can order their sauces TrueMadeFoods from Goldbelly as well.

All the way from the Land Down Under we were thrilled to talk to the Grill-Sisters at 06:45 of episode. They discussed their new cookbook ‘The Grill Sisters’ Guide to Legendary BBQ: 60 Irresistible Recipes that Guarantee Mouthwatering, Finger-Lickin’ Results’ published by Page Street Publishing. Irene Sharp and Desi Longinidis are The Grill Sisters and have worked with hundreds of big brands around the world. They have appeared on Australian television, hosted the World Food Championships in Australia and are an ambassador for Australia’s Biggest BBQ retailer, Barbeques Galore. The Grill Sisters’ easy-to-follow recipes are just what the backyard chef ordered. Having competed alongside world-renowned BBQ experts and as brand ambassadors, these ladies know their way around a grill. They walk you through setting up your grilling equipment, the art of using wood chips and cooking your meat to the perfect temperature, along with all the best ways to prepare food on your grill―searing, basting, smoking and more.

New Jersey isn’t normally mentioned as a hotbed of the BBQ scene nationally, but Steve Raab at 02:18:35 of episode the co-owner Local Smoke BBQ and his team are working hard to change that mentality. With over 135 awards, they have had the honor of winning 5 New Jersey State Championship titles and 1 World Championship Turkey Title in 2020. Highlights include 1st in Ribs against 488 teams at the American Royal in Kansas City (AKA the World Series of BBQ) and 1st place in Brisket at the National BBQ Festival in Douglas, GA. To capture the essence of true BBQ, Local Smoke BBQ slow-smokes all meat with a combination of sugar maple and cherry woods and their award-winning BBQ is inspired by the authentic BBQ served up at these competitions throughout the country and they invite you to visit them at one of their many Local Smoke BBQ locations. We don’t think you’ll be disappointed.

Are you or do you know an Egg Head? Chris Sussman, a.k.a, theBBQBuddha at 28:55 of episode is a founding member of the BGE Team Green, a group of individuals cooking for and representing Big Green Egg® at events and festivals around the world. He has been featured in publications such as Maxim, Thrillist and the Huffington Post and we talked to him about his latest cookbook ‘The Ultimate Big Green Egg Cookbook: An Independent Guide: 100 Master Recipes for Perfect Smoking, Grilling and Baking’ published by Page Street Publishing. Get ready to take your BBQ from just alright to flat-out amazing with your Big Green Egg! Packed with 100 mouthwatering recipes and vibrant photography, this is the only book you’ll need to help you achieve that next-level flavor you’ve been searching for. His comprehensive recipe collection provides you with a reliable road map to cook any food you crave on your Egg―every possible smoked meat, comfort-food classics, flavor-packed veggies and even desserts.

Most BBQ competitions are tied in with County Fairs. As you know at these fairs there are many contests to award blue ribbons for the best of categories. Well if you have been to one of these you have probably seen lindaskeensblueribbon at 01:38:55 of episode walking away with most of the blue ribbons as she has won close to 2,000 of them. Linda is an Appalachian grandmother who’s been cooking for her loved ones and entering county fairs for decades, frequently taking home the highest honors. Linda Skeens gained sudden and widespread fame for winning dozens of ribbons at the Virginia-Kentucky District Fair in the summer of 2022. At that Virginia Kentucky State Fair, Linda won first, second and third place for best cookies. She also swept all three awards for candy and for savory bread. And won the blue ribbon for cake, pie, brownie, sweet bread and best overall baked goods (that was strawberry fudge.) But it didn’t end there. She won for canned tomatoes, canned corn, pickled peppers, sauerkraut, relish, spaghetti sauce and both jelly and jam. She practically won every award available all by herself!!!!! She joined us and talked about her debut cookbook being released Tuesday, August 1st called ‘Linda Skeens Blue Ribbon Kitchen: Recipes & Tips from America’s Favorite County Fair Champion’ published by 83 Press  hoffmanmedia and is available now to preorder everywhere.

This place is just fun and delicious. The decor and ambiance is sleek, robot servers cute, and witnessing the dumplings being made exciting to watch. The food is fabulous as well. Even with the restaurant buzzing with patrons the service was quick and efficient and quality didn’t suffer as everything was tasty and flavorful. The unexpected highlight of a dish was the pork and veggie wontons in spicy peanut sauce. Close behind were the amazing Nan Xiang Soup Dumplings and braised beef spicy noodle soup. The pan fried pork buns and scallion pancake with sliced beef were no slackers either and very good. Highly recommend a visit here.

Classic Ecuador and Amazon Adventure with Culinary Delights – 2023

Classic Ecuador and Amazon Adventure with Culinary Delights – 2023

Small Bites Radio has been named Top Hospitality Shows on the Planet from 2020 – 2023, #Bluejeanfood.com named Top Philadelphia Lifestyle Blogs, Websites & Influencers from 2021-2023, Best Philly Food Blogs and Websites 2023, and nominated by Metro Philly Newspaper 2022 and 2023 Best of Philadelphia Arts & Entertainment.

Ecuador is about the size of the state of Colorado, yet this mesmerizing country nestled in the heart of South America captivated me with its rich biodiversity, vibrant culture, and awe-inspiring landscapes. A visit here offers an enchanting blend of natural wonders, rich history, and warm hospitality. Ecuador is a gateway to a world of diverse experiences from bustling cities, majestic Andes Mountains, lush Amazon rainforest, and everywhere you look around just amazing scenery. Ecuador is a hidden gem that promises an unforgettable experience.

One of the areas that Ecuador excels at is their extraordinary array of natural wonders that will leave any traveler in awe. The Andes Mountains provide a breathtaking backdrop, with snow-capped peaks, picturesque valleys, and charming traditional villages. Adventurers can indulge in thrilling activities such as hiking, mountain biking, and climbing, ziplining, and more. If that isn’t enough, the Amazon rainforest is a paradise waiting to be explored. Immerse yourself in the dense jungle where vibrant wildlife, exotic plants, and indigenous communities coexist. The Amazon Rainforest with its unrivaled biodiversity allows you to connect with nature on a whole new level with exotic wildlife and its intricate ecosystem.

Ecuador’s rich indigenous heritage and vibrant cities provide an immersive cultural experience. In Quito, the country’s capital, you can explore the well-preserved historic center, a UNESCO World Heritage site, and marvel at its colonial architecture. Otavalo, renowned for its indigenous market, allows you to interact with locals, purchase traditional crafts and other goods at great prices (be sure to haggle how much you want to pay), and witness their colorful customs. The warmth of the Ecuadorian people will make you feel welcome everywhere you go.

As hard as it could be to believe after everything that I’ve already mentioned, one of the highlights to me was the amount of culinary delicacies at every turn. Ecuadorian cuisine is a delightful fusion of flavors, showcasing the country’s diverse culinary heritage. From the mouthwatering ceviche made with freshly caught seafood and was told that Ecuadorian ceviche is cooked seafood not raw and if it’s not cooked seafood it’s not a true Ecuadorian ceviche, to the traditional hearty soup called locro de papa (Ecuadorian Potato Soup), my taste buds were in constant awe. I also savored the famous Ecuadorian chocolate and indulged in many other exquisite Andean treats along my journey.

Whether you’re seeking adrenaline-pumping activities or more leisurely pursuits, this country has it all. I do have to admit that none of this would have been possible without Wilson Bernardo Tituaña Sánchez. He is one of the greatest guides and local fixers I have ever had the pleasure to get to know. From his knowledge of the Amazonian Rainforest and the native people, to his discipline and grit due to being in the Ecuadorian Special Forces, he makes sure everyone is safe, happy, educated, and well taken care of during your visit with him. I didn’t have any expectations before my visit, but I will forever be grateful for seeing and experiencing this wonderful country called Ecuador.

Sounds good doesn’t it? Well if you decide to go below are some of the places I enjoyed some delicious meals and experiences.

La Casa del Suizo – (Amazon Rainforest) La Punta, Ecuador

La Casa del Suizo is a lodge located in the Amazon jungle. It is a popular destination for those who want to experience the beauty and nature of the Amazon region on the banks of the Napo River, one of the main tributaries of the Amazon River. It offers a variety of activities from exploring the unique flora and fauna, hikes through the jungle, canoeing on the rivers, visits to local indigenous communities, bird watching, fishing, and much more. The lodge is comfortable, the pool is great, and you can try local foods when they have an Amazon Cooking demonstration of the giant beetle grubs, locally caught fish, fruits, and vegetables.

Casa de Piedra at Samari Spa Resort – Banos, Ecuador

Samari Spa Resort is a 4 hectare ranch with beautiful gardens and 300 years of history. It formerly belonged to the Jesuit community and has maintained the old architecture, built with exquisite colonial taste combining carved stone, wood, stained glass and wrought iron. Rustic details, good taste and nature combine to make this resort a true art gallery.

Casa de Piedra, the resort’s restaurant, offers each dish containing selected organic ingredients from the resort’s own garden, a sublime experience of flavors. The wine cellar with a varied selection of wines and a tavern full of history complement the Samari Experience. I enjoyed their Locro de los Andes, Maito de Pescado, and Medallón de res.

Pumamaki Restaurant at Termas de Papallacta – Baeza, Ecuador

Termas Papallacta owns the so-called ¨Rancho del Cañón¨, a protected area of around 200 hectares, located at the entrance of the Cayambe-Coca National Park. It’s an amazing drive and view of the Andes to get here. Not only is the food great, but Termas de Papallacta has natural hot springs with eight thermal baths and two cold pools with a great spa or public area that you can choose to enjoy. For my meal I had the filet mignon that hit the spot to fill my belly in the high altitude as the resort sits close to 11,000 feet high in elevation.

Restaurant Inty Huasi at Otavalo Market – Otavalo, Ecuador

One of the things that people make sure to do is to visit Otavalo Market, also known as Plaza de los Ponchos and Centenario Market run by the Kichwa Otavalo people and their world famous crafts. You can walk around the market seeing bright colored fabrics, crafts, and everything else you might want or need. After you tire yourself out from all the shopping and build up and appetite, a great choice for an amazing meal at fabulous prices is Restaurant Inty Huasi. For only $18, I devoured their Tomahawk Steak topped with grilled shrimp. Yes, I said only $18!!!! Even if you don’t buy anything at the market, you should stop by here just for the meal.

Restaurante Balcon al Mundo – Quito, Ecuador

Ciudad Mitad del Mundo is a popular destination for anyone in Quito. Visitors can stand on the Equator, with one foot in the Northern Hemisphere and the other in the Southern Hemisphere. You can also balance an egg on a nail without having to hold it and weigh a kilo less than in other places. They have built an attraction area Middle of the World City with museums, shops, and restaurants. I dined at Restaurante Balcon al Mundo and really enjoyed their potato soup and garlic shrimp entree. Great views in the dining area and service was quick and friendly.

Restaurante Papagayo Cotopaxi at Hosteria Papagayo – Machachi, Ecuador

A visit here you will enjoy the flower gardens, or a chance to simply enjoy nature and the natural surroundings with a small farm and animals surrounding the property. I enjoyed their chicken soup and stewed goat with rice and veggies.

Restaurant Pedro Freile at Hacienda Pinsaqui – Otavalo, Ecuador

This place has been around for 300 hundred years. The restaurant is located where the first owners originally lived and represents everything that this old colonial house means. Its large windows allow the entry of the heat of the sun and the sound of the chirping of the birds in the gardens. You will feel how the elegant hand-carved furniture and the pieces of art harmonize the environment together with the predominant white color on the thick adobe walls that generates the perfect balance to taste the menu.

Cafe Colibri – Banos, Ecuador

What a fun place this cafe was to find. Café Colibrí shares its space with the Work of the renowned bañeño painter Edguin Barrera so it’s an art exhibit, cafe, and garden all mixed together. The drinks were fantastic and the ambiance you have to visit to experience. Highly recommend a visit if ever in Banos and need to chill for a few minutes.

Café Colón by Hilton Colón – Quito, Ecuador

Cafe Colon is located in La Mariscal district, Quito’s bustling commercial and tourist Avenida Amazonas. It also sits across from El Ejido Park home to a nightly craft market, Casa de la Cultura Museum and Plaza Foch close by, and just 15 minutes from Quito old town a UNESCO World Heritage Site peppered with colonial architecture. Cafe Colon Restaurant opened in 1968, and the restaurant has garnered a reputation for its exemplary Ecuadorian cuisine and is popular with locals of all generations, many who come for the famous traditional Ecuadorian ceviche. With a buffet available at breakfast and lunch, and a menu throughout the day, the TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence-winning restaurant also serves international classics. Everything I had was top notch. Enjoyed their chicken soup, grilled shrimp with mushrooms and potatoes, and ice with fresh fruit.

Donde Ivan Restaurant – Banos, Ecuador

A little off the main path and down an alley from their hotel you will find the restaurant. It is a simple location, but with very friendly staff. The lunch was basic but yummy. Had their grilled chicken.

Paradero La Avelina – Cotopaxi, Ecuador

You can’t enjoy a trip to somewhere you’ve never been without partaking in some of their local snacks and treats. Well I enjoyed some pistachio ice cream, a las tradicionales tortillas de maiz that were out of this world amazing, Las Cayambeñitas which is an artisan delicacy of high quality milk with an exquisite flavor from the city of Cayambe that you use to top Bizcocha cookies to make them one of the greatest cookies ever, and Pacari Chocolate founded in Quito and they work directly with more than 3500 small-scale farmers without intermediaries and transparency giving them fair prices for their product while also sharing knowledge about organic and biodynamic processes, which allow them to obtain a better product while taking care of their piece of land.

AXO is one of South Jersey’s hottest places right now. They are well known for their street corn and beef birria tacos. The beef is marinated in a rich and aromatic blend of spices, including chili peppers, garlic, cumin, oregano, and other seasonings and then slow-cooked until it becomes tender and easily shredded. The slow cooking process allows the meat to absorb all the flavors of the marinade, resulting in a savory and delicious flavor in addition this cooking process provides a dipping sauce or consommé. This flavorful broth is made by straining the cooking liquid from the beef stew, resulting in a rich and concentrated broth. The tacos are then dipped into the consommé before taking a bite, adding an extra layer of flavor and moisture to the taco. The tacos were filled to brim with cheese and served with traditional accompaniments chopped onions, cilantro, wedge of lime, radish, and cucumber slice. The combination of tender beef, flavorful spices, and the dipping consommé make these tacos a truly satisfying and mouthwatering culinary experience. The Mexican street corn, also known as “elote,” is a popular and delicious street food dish originating from Mexico. It consists of grilled or boiled corn on the cob that is then coated with a variety of flavorful toppings. Mexican street corn is famous for its combination of sweet, savory, tangy, and spicy flavors. AXO’s version is a tasty one and I enjoyed the corn. The beef birria egg roll was pretty good as well. I would certainly return to AXO to try some more things on their menu.

Whether you’re a chocolate lover, thrill-seeker, nature enthusiast, or simply looking for a relaxing getaway, Hershey, PA offers an abundance of fun and memorable experiences. It’s a place where you can indulge in sweet treats, create lasting memories, and embrace the joyful spirit of this delightful town. There are also some great meals to be had around the area. Below are some I enjoyed.

The Mill in Hershey – Hershey, PA

Dining here is a unique and memorable experience that combines the charm of the past with the pleasures of a modern dining setting. The architectural beauty of the space adds to the overall dining experience, transporting you back in time and providing a visually captivating backdrop for your meal. The experience was nice and a decent meal. I had pan seared scallops with creamy polenta, sauteed wild mushrooms, sun-dried tomatoes, leek and onion jam, Smoked Pork Belly, Brussel Slaw, Walnuts, and crispy calamari with Banana Peppers, Shaved Shallots, and Citrus Aioli.

Milton’s Ice Cream Parlor – Hershey, PA

The secret here is freshly made ice cream from local milk that is a delightful treat that offers a unique and delicious experience. I really enjoyed the vanilla bean and milk chocolate with superior creaminess and flavor. Nice experience here and prices reasonable for the quality.

Official BBQ & Burgers/Official Brewing Co. – Harrisburg, PA

Official BBQ & Burgers/Official Brewing Co. is a combined restaurant and brewery that offers a unique dining experience by combining the art of barbecuing and brewing with a rustic and casual atmosphere. It was a nice touch to have the Nintendo available for anyone to play and listening to Greta Van Fleet the entire time I was dining there was fabulous. The barbecue sauces which are many to choose from, rubs, and seasonings you can tell are carefully crafted to enhance the taste of the meats, creating a truly satisfying dining experience. The wings were hands down amazing, mac & cheese was really good and creamy, the black label burger topped with brisket was wonderful and the fries perfect, and the ribs and brisket nachos hit the spot.

Ninh Kieu Restaurant – Annville, Pa

Ninh Kieu Restaurant offers an authentic Vietnamese dining experience, featuring traditional cuisine, a welcoming atmosphere, and a cultural touch. It is a place where guests can savor the flavors of Vietnam, discover new dishes, and appreciate the rich culinary heritage of the country. You can feel the love here and the owners are welcoming you into their life and family with all of the pictures showing you their life around the restaurant. The food here was amazing as well. This place is a gem! I enjoyed every bite of the meal. I had the Goi Cuon Thjt Nuong and Bun Bo with a fresh passion fruit drink. If you are around this area at all you should really try them out.

3B Ice Cream (Derry St.) – Harrisburg, PA

This is a neighborhood ice cream parlor with outdoor seating arrangements and a friendly staff that greets customers with a smile allowing you to relax and enjoy your ice cream. I had the peaches and cream milk shake. They have lots of different flavors and choices to make everyone happy at reasonable prices.

You want to start the summer season off right? Then you have to begin the day well. Oves is a good choice to get a delicious fresh made hot cake donut topped with vanilla frosting and a huge scrapple, egg, and cheese bagel to keep you going and make you full. Had an enjoyable time and the service was quick and friendly. You should give them a try for breakfast and then you can burn some of those calories off by renting a bike from them as well.

Foods of Guatemala – 2023

Small Bites Radio has been named Top Hospitality Shows on the Planet from 2020 – 2023, #Bluejeanfood.com named Top Philadelphia Lifestyle Blogs, Websites & Influencers from 2021-2023, Best Philly Food Blogs and Websites 2023, and nominated by Metro Philly Newspaper 2022 and 2023 Best of Philadelphia Arts & Entertainment.

Guatemala is probably not on the list of many to visit for adventure and relaxation, but it should be. Guatemala offers a plethora of joys and enriching experiences. From its stunning natural beauty, rich history, vibrant culture, and warm hospitality, Guatemala has something to offer every type of traveler. One of the things you’ll notice immediately is the country’s breathtaking natural landscapes. From towering volcanoes and lush rainforests to serene lakes, Guatemala boasts some of the most diverse and picturesque landscapes you can see in a small country. The country is home to the majestic Lake Atitlán, surrounded by volcanoes and indigenous Mayan villages. Guatemala also is home to the charming city of Antigua. This UNESCO World Heritage site is known for its well-preserved Spanish Baroque-influenced architecture, cobblestone streets, and vibrant local markets. Exploring the city’s historic churches, plazas, and colorful buildings is a delight for history and architecture enthusiasts as well as foodies alike. Guatemalan cuisine is a fusion of Mayan, Spanish, and Caribbean flavors that mix together wonderfully. A vacation in Guatemala is sure to leave you with cherished memories and a deep appreciation for this captivating country. Below are some of the meals I enjoyed during my travels:

Restaurante Ecológico Los Pumpos – Panajachel, Guatemala

Restaurante Ecológico Los Pumpos is a charming eco-friendly restaurant located in Panajachel, Guatemala. Nestled in the heart of the picturesque town on the shores of Lake Atitlán, Los Pumpos offers a unique dining experience that combines delicious food with a commitment to sustainability and environmental consciousness. Fresh caught tilapia from Lake Atitlán brought directly to the restaurant that was stuffed with herbs and spices, sauteed veggies, potato wedges, and sangria. This meal was flat out amazing!!!! You must dine here during any stay in Panajachel.

Restaurante MiraLago – Panajachel, Guatemala

Dining here you can enjoy a front row seat to the picturesque lake as it offers a unique dining experience with beautiful views and a tranquil ambiance. The restaurant is tastefully designed, featuring comfortable seating and large windows that allows guests to relax and enjoy their meal in a peaceful setting. I had the camarones empanizados which were delightful. Huge and flavorful with fries and rice.

Cakchiquel Restaurant at Porta Hotel – Panajachel, Guatemala

Upon entering the Cakchiquel Restaurant, you will likely be greeted by a warm and inviting atmosphere that showcases elements of Cakchiquel culture. The restaurant may feature traditional artwork, handicrafts, and decor that pay homage to the indigenous heritage of the Cakchiquel people. I enjoyed Pepián, a hearty meat stew made with chicken, simmered with a thick and aromatic sauce composed of roasted seeds, chilies, and spices served with tortillas and the steak special which was tender and cooked nicely.

Pappys BBQ – Antigua, Guatemala

This is a typical BBQ restaurant, but it is located in Antigua. It offers a relaxed and casual atmosphere with rustic decor elements, wooden tables and chairs, and some BBQ-related decorations. I enjoyed cheese nachos, wings that were VERY good, ribs, fries, and veggies.

Señor Crêpa – Antigua, Guatemala

A charming destination that specializes in serving delicious crêpes, which are thin French pancakes made from wheat flour and filled with a variety of sweet or savory ingredients. They can satisfy anyone with a sweet tooth with options like Nutella and strawberry and ice cream which is exactly what I had.

Restaurante Las Velas at Hotel Camino Real Antigua – Antigua, Guatemala

The restaurant is renowned for its charming ambiance and beautiful décor, which features an elegant and rustic Mediterranean-inspired design. The name “Las Velas” translates to “The Candles,” and true to its name, the restaurant is adorned with soft candlelight that adds a romantic and intimate touch to the atmosphere. The talented team of chefs combines fresh, locally sourced ingredients with international culinary techniques to create a diverse range of dishes that cater to various tastes and preferences. My dish was beautifully plated, showcasing the culinary artistry and creativity of the kitchen. Even though I was only there for breakfast enjoying fresh fruits, pancakes, eggs, bacon, and hash brown, the combination of exquisite flavors, elegant presentation, and warm hospitality created a truly memorable dining experience.

Madre Tierra – Antigua Guatemala

Just a block away from the Central Square of Antigua, Madre Tierra is a nice choice to dine at. The décor incorporates elements of Mayan art, vibrant textiles, and natural materials, creating a warm and inviting ambiance. I had the Tacos Chapines and grilled chicken. The meal was good and service was friendly.

Xocolatl – San Antonio Palopó, Guatemala

Xocolatl Guatemala is a renowned chocolate brand that specializes in crafting high-quality artisanal chocolates. It draws its inspiration from the rich history and traditions of chocolate-making in Guatemala, a country known for its exceptional cacao beans. The name “Xocolatl” is derived from the ancient Mayan word for chocolate, highlighting the brand’s connection to the region’s cultural heritage. Xocolatl Guatemala offers a diverse selection of chocolate creations, including dark chocolate bars, milk chocolate bars, truffles, bonbons, and chocolate-covered fruits or nuts. I went with the milk and dark chocolate bars and they were divine. The view enjoying your treats here is breathtaking.

La Fuente at Barceló – Guatemala City, Guatemala

La Fuente is designed with a contemporary and sophisticated style, featuring tasteful decor, warm lighting, and comfortable seating arrangements. The restaurant provides both indoor and outdoor seating options, allowing guests to choose their preferred dining environment. The night I visited was a seafood buffet and offered a delightful dining experience with its decent cuisine, ambiance, reasonable price, and excellent service.

Katok – Tecpan, Guatemala

Katok is nestled in the picturesque landscapes of the Guatemalan highlands. It is surrounded by rolling hills, lush forests, and agricultural fields, creating a charming and serene atmosphere. The town is known for its strong preservation of Mayan traditions, customs, and language. The area around Tecpán is rich in archaeological sites and ancient ruins. One notable site is Iximche, an ancient Mayan city that served as the capital of the Kaqchikel kingdom. It is an attraction and offers insights into Mayan history and architecture. Katok lets you rest after a visit to Iximche and I had a burger with fries.
