If you are looking for an old school Italian experience of the Boardwalk Empire style days during Atlantic City Boardwalk’s heyday you don’t have to look any further than Chef Vola’s where you feel like you will have to know the special knock on the door for them answer. You can’t just walk into Chef Vola’s or call them up, use grubhub, doordash, etc. to order from them. You need to leave a message for them to call you back after you advise the day and time you want to dine with them (and be sure to give a month or two advance notice) and they will tell you if you’ve been accepted and confirmed or if they are fully booked. They were allowing take-out, but you still had to know the secret password to order with them, but they have now ceased doing take-out orders. Well let me tell you no matter how you dine with them, you need to make sure you do. They food was absolutely delicious and amazing. I had the Milk Fed Veal medallions with Peppers, mushrooms and onions, sautéed in extra virgin olive oil and Garlic that just blew me away how great it was. I normally don’t eat veal or enjoy it most times, but it was recommended and let me tell you it is a must order if you go. The veal was so tender I was able to cut it with just my fork and the flavor was suburb throughout the dish. Also served was House Salad made with iceberg & romaine lettuce, tomato, cucumbers, pepperoni, sharp provolone cheese, black olives, pepperoncini peppers, chopped red onions and garlic croutons, topped with anchovies with their house extra virgin olive oil/balsamic vinaigrette dressing served on the side, broiled half of chicken cut up, and Butterscotch and rum ricotta cheese pie.
