If Philadelphia has a temple dedicated to the art of seafood, Oyster House is it. Sleek, lively, and carrying that unmistakable aroma of butter, brine, and pure culinary confidence, it’s the kind of place where every dish feels like it was crafted with intention. You walk in and instantly know: This is going to be special.

And oh… it was.

Kicked the meal off with the unforgettable ONATA — roasted oysters blanketed with pecorino and herbed bread crumbs. These things weren’t just good, they were “stare at the plate after they’re gone and question your life choices” good. Perfectly roasted, lightly crisp, salty, savory, buttery… truly some of the best roasted oysters you can get anywhere.

Next came a hug in a bowl: the New England Clam Chowder with bacon. Creamy, smoky, deeply comforting, the kind of chowder that makes you feel like you’re sitting in a coastal town in Maine with a sweater on (even though you’re very much in Philly).

Following that, the classic Shrimp Cocktail — chilled, firm, sweet shrimp with just the right snap. Simple and perfect.

Then came the Fisherman’s Stew, a magnificent bowl loaded with shrimp, mussels, calamari, and fish bathed in a spicy tomato broth. The broth is bold and bright, and the dollop of saffron rouille adds a luxurious, silky depth that transforms the dish from “delicious” to “I might write poetry about this.”

And just when you think the meal couldn’t possibly go higher… out come the Pan-Seared Sea Scallops. Golden on the outside, buttery and tender inside scallops so perfectly cooked they practically melt. Sweet, delicate, and unforgettable.

Oyster House doesn’t just serve seafood, it elevates it into an experience that feels both coastal and contemporary, refined yet comforting. It’s the kind of dinner that stays with you long after the last bite and one of those meals you’ll talk about for weeks.

Again, in 2025, Small Bites with Donato Marino and Derek Timm of Bluejeanfood.com was blown away by winning the Best of the Best in the Philadelphia Region Arts & Entertainment category out of 80,000 votes tallied in total through Metro Philly’s Best of Philadelphia for 2025.
