This place is a little bit of everything for everyone. They are a mixture of Caribbean, BBQ, Spanish, and Southern styles. For their location, they are certainly unique and a welcome addition to the culinary scene. The food was better than average, but the highlight was the service was top notch and the retail area of the restaurant is really cool with some interesting foodie items available for purchase. I had the rib platter with mac and cheese and fries, and the jerk chicken platter with Spanish rice and sweet fried plantains. I will be interested to see how they evolve and grow. If you’re around the area they are a good choice to try something different than the ordinary or normal around there.

A few years ago it would have been a struggle to think of anywhere serving Detroit style pizza. Now it seems they are popping up left and right. Even with many options of places being available now, not all are equal. Let me tell you that Polizzi’s Brick Oven has a really nice pie called the ‘313’ and the zucchini sticks are delicious as well. For the pizza, the dough is fluffy exactly what you are looking for and the cheese is crispy on the side just like it should be. If you’re a fan of this style or just looking for something a little different and good you should give them a try.

This is a small chain that I really hope kicks off all around the United States. The concept is great and the food was fabulous and affordable. Had their quarter chicken with fries and mixed veggies. Everything was great!

This place was an absolute joy to dine at. The food was great and service outstanding. I had the Texas brisket, dry rub ribs, mac and cheese, collard greens, and 1/4 chicken. The chicken was hands down one of the best bbq style chicken dishes I have had in a LONG time. I might just drive back down there thinking about how great it was typing this up. You have to try the restaurant if you are ever around the area as the bbq was fantastic.

Sitting back from the road in a large strip mall is Jimmy’s BBQ. It is worth the search to find them. The service was top-notch and friendly, prices very reasonable for what you get, and the food was pretty good as well. I had the ribs, brisket, smoked bacon, collard greens, and mac and cheese. Fyi, be sure to use the one of their sauces to heighten the flavor the profile.

What a joy this place was to visit. The mart alone is a good choice to just find some cool items to take home that you may not normally see. Best part of the visit though is the food. Really delicious and insanely affordable for the quality of food and portion size. Had their fried rice, chicken adobo, beef stew, and chicken skewer. Each items was great and if and when I’m in the area I will certainly be back. If you haven’t been yourself be sure to check them out.

You always hear people say the secret to success is in the bread. Well bread is the #1 priority here and it’s great. They not only offer amazing bread related products, but they have an entire market full of Italian specialties, treats, desserts, pastas, meals to go, pizza, and sandwiches. I had their chicken cutlet with sharp provolone, and broccoli rabe and half sheet of pizza. Everything was delicious and they are definitely somewhere you should put on your radar to try for yourself. They have a little something for everyone and from my experience you can’t really go wrong with anything there.

Burgers, hot dogs, and tater tots is the name of the game here. Head by Chef Dane DeMarco they have updated the old school Americana luncheonette with some fancy twists. Service was really friendly and most importantly the food was excellent. Had a cheeseburger, Coney Island Chili Dog, and an order of tots. The chili dog was wonderful and I highly recommend it, tots were crispy, and burger was a quality item with its bun toasted on the grill. Great addition to a tiny little town’s food scene that has a decent variety and something for everyone in a small area.

The Eagle Beach area of Aruba has constantly been named one of the 10 top beaches in the world. There is a good reason why. It is just flat out gorgeous and has to be seen in person to be truly appreciated. The white sand just massages your feet while you walk on it and the warm turquoise clear and calm water is like none other.
An important question to ask when going there is where should you eat? Well below are a few meals that I enjoyed during my time in and around the area.
Así Es Mi Peru – Aruba
The vibe here is chill and the food is wonderful. You should give them a visit for sure when on the island. One of the best meals while I was there. I enjoyed their Trilogia de Causa, Mixto Ceviche, and Carapulca Chinchana.
Daily Fish – Aruba
This place is tiny, yet powerful. Lots of fresh fish caught locally with a decent menu of things you can get directly cooked by them. I had their version of Fish and Chips and it was delightful and you should try too. Perfect location if you need seafood to take to cook yourself or have them do it for you.
Red Fish – Aruba
The service here was one of the most enjoyable on the island. Our server joked with us the entire time and made my son feel like a million dollars treating him like royalty. The best part was the food was fantastic as well. I had their fish soup, calamari, and red snapper platter.
Las Ramblas – Aruba
Dining here provides the perfect opportunity to enjoy a beautiful sunset while enjoying your meal. If you’re lucky you just might be treated to a nice live acoustical music set during your visit like I was. The service is top notch and meal was really nice as well. I enjoyed grilled calamari, Lobster Bisque, Escargots à la Bourguignonne, Jumbo Caribbean shrimp in a curry sauce with sauteed veggies and rice, and carrot cake.
Aruba Ostrich Farm – Aruba
Now this place is just flat out fun! Very educational tour on Ostrich’s, but surprisingly they offer an entire menu of varied and interesting things to eat here during an UTV Tour from El Tours. You have to give advance notice if you wanted to try something ostrich related, but they were able to quickly cook up a fabulous beef empanada that you really should get and a croquette for a nice snack.
Passions On The Beach – Aruba
You can’t get any closer to the water unless you get in it. This place is a haven to relax beachfront and have a good meal. Enjoyed their Ginger Pumpkin Soup and Angus Beef Cheeseburger with fries.
Gelateria Italiana – Aruba
Tucked hidden inside a resort complex is this gem to cool off from the hot sun. Laura Iannizzi’s dessert haven is the perfect place to relax and re-energize yourself with a treat of yummy gelato or any other delight from their large selection of pastries, pies, and cakes. I really enjoyed their pistachio flavor.
Sbarro Pizza at La Cabana – Aruba
What tops relaxing at the ocean? Relaxing at the ocean while getting a pizza delivered right to you on the beach. Sbarro Pizza at La Cabana has an attendant comb Eagle Beach taking orders and bringing your food right to you. It was delightful and the server was working hard and as pleasant as could be.
Panda Express – Airport – Aruba
This little outpost of Panda Express had nice fresh food and at a good price point especially for being in an airport.
Uncle Tony’s at Eagle Aruba Resort and Casino – Aruba
Last, but certainly not least is this destination. Uncle Tony’s offers breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Below are their breakfast and lunch offerings which were generous in portion size and delicious. The restaurant is situated in the heart of Eagle Aruba Resort and Casino which is a beautiful property with every amenity you can want or think of. We stayed in their 3 Bedroom Penthouse which was luxurious, modern, clean, and spacious. I highly recommend a stay here! More info here:

A good pizza joint cheesesteak at a decent price point. They were generous with the meat and cheese and onions were cooked nicely. A solid choice if in the area.
