Dim Sum Garden: New Location, Same Amazing Flavors!

If you love dim sum, you’ve probably heard of Dim Sum Garden in Philadelphia’s Chinatown. Known for their delicious, freshly made Shanghai-style dim sum, Dim Sum Garden has been a staple in Philly’s food scene since 2013. But now, they’ve made an exciting move to a bigger, better location at 1024 Race St., and trust me, you’ll want to check it out!

A Little Background on Dim Sum Garden
The story of Dim Sum Garden begins in 2003 when Chef Shizhou Da made her way to the U.S. with an authentic family recipe for Xiao Long Bao (Chinese steamed soup dumplings). Chef Da is the 5th generation of the family that created the very first Xiao Long Bao in China, so when she says these dumplings are special, she means it! With over 30 years of experience making homemade dim sum, Chef Da’s skill and dedication shine through in every dish.

After a few successful years in North Jersey and New York, Chef Da and her daughter Sally decided to bring Shanghai’s finest dumplings to Philadelphia in 2013. The original location quickly became a popular spot for locals and visitors alike, drawing people in with its mouthwatering dumplings and traditional dim sum offerings.

The Big Move
Now, Dim Sum Garden has moved to a new location at 1024 Race St., just down the block from their original spot. This new space is double the size of the old one, with 200 seats—perfect for larger groups, families, and even private events! The stylish new restaurant features a gorgeous backlit ceiling that looks like the ripples of a serene pond, adding a relaxing vibe to the dining experience. There’s also a balcony overlooking a full bar where you can enjoy beer, wine, and cocktails. It’s a perfect spot for casual meals or special celebrations.

What to Order
Now, let’s get to the food! During my visit, I tried a variety of dishes, and everything was absolutely amazing.

Shanghainese Soup Dumplings: These dumplings were the highlight of my meal. They’re delicate, perfectly steamed, and bursting with flavorful broth. They’re definitely a must-try!
Beef Ho Fun: A savory stir-fry with tender slices of beef and thick rice noodles—this dish was flavorful and comforting.
Roast Pork Bao Bun: Soft, pillowy buns filled with juicy roast pork. Every bite was a burst of flavor!
Diced Chicken with Chili Pepper: If you like a little spice, this dish is for you! The chicken was perfectly cooked and packed with heat from the chili peppers.

One of the most exciting updates is that Dim Sum Garden is now serving beer and wine at their new location! Whether you’re in the mood for a cold beer to pair with your dumplings or a glass of wine to complement your meal, they’ve got you covered. Paradise Pizza & Pasta in Bellmawr, NJ, is a charming little takeout spot that perfectly embodies the neighborhood pizzeria vibe. While it’s a tiny place with a basic setup, it offers a straightforward menu with average prices that won’t break the bank.

I tried their cheesesteak with fried onions and a chicken parm sandwich. The cheesesteak was seasoned beef and perfectly fried onions adding a nice sweetness. It was satisfying, but not particularly groundbreaking. The chicken parm sandwich was also enjoyable with a chicken cutlet sliced and smothered in marinara sauce and melted cheese, served on a roll.

While the food isn’t cutting edge, it’s comforting, making it a good option for a quick meal.

Rohan’s Indian Bistro, nestled in the heart of Rowan University’s campus and downtown Glassboro, is a delightful gem that brings authentic Indian flavors to the community. The cozy interior creates a warm, inviting atmosphere, perfect for a casual meal with friends or a relaxing dinner after a busy day.

I had the pleasure of trying the Curry Chicken and Tandoori Chicken, and both dishes were exceptional. The curry chicken was rich and aromatic, with tender pieces of chicken enveloped in a flavorful sauce that had just the right amount of spice. The Tandoori Chicken was beautifully marinated and grilled, boasting a smoky flavor that was truly mouthwatering.

To complete the meal, I indulged in their garlic naan, which was fluffy and perfectly toasted, ideal for scooping up the delicious curries.

The friendly service at Rohan’s only enhances the experience, making you feel right at home. If you’re in Glassboro and looking for Indian cuisine, Rohan’s Indian Bistro is a decent choice.

OZAKI Asian Cuisine in Clementon, NJ, is a fantastic spot for sushi and authentic Asian dishes. I recently indulged in their offerings and was thoroughly impressed.

The Red Tail Snapper Sushi Roll was a standout—fresh, vibrant, and expertly crafted, showcasing the delicate flavors of the fish. The Yellowtail Roll followed suit, delivering a rich, buttery taste that paired beautifully with a hint of wasabi. The Salmon and Avocado Roll was equally delightful, combining creamy avocado with the fresh, succulent salmon for a perfect bite.

For something heartier, the Beef Udon was a comforting treat. The noodles were perfectly cooked, and the savory broth was packed with flavor, while the tender beef added depth to the dish. Lastly, the Pork Fried Rice was a satisfying side, with tender pieces of pork and a blend of veggies that made each bite enjoyable.

The atmosphere at OZAKI is warm and inviting, complemented by friendly service. If you’re in Clementon and craving quality Asian cuisine, OZAKI is definitely worth a visit.

This charming pizzeria embodies that warm, welcoming vibe, making it an ideal spot for a casual meal with family or friends—especially after enjoying a thrilling 4DX movie at Regal Warrington Crossing.

The highlight of the menu is undoubtedly their coal-fired traditional pizza. Each pie is cooked to perfection, featuring a beautifully crispy crust with just the right amount of char, giving it a delightful smoky flavor.

To start off my meal, I ordered the wings, which came tossed in their coal-fired Mango Habanero Sauce. These wings were incredibly flavorful and had the perfect balance of sweet and spicy, while a complementary basket of warm, buttery garlic bread added a satisfying crunch that perfectly complemented the meal.
