This week’s Small Bites Radio started off with a little technical bug 🐛 — but we got it straightened out fast and dove into an incredible lineup of guests and conversations! 👨‍🍳 Chef Justin Bacharach, Executive Chef & Co-Owner of the newly opened dancerobot in Rittenhouse, joined us to talk about his journey from the izakaya kitchen at Royal Sushi & Izakaya to leading the kitchen at Philly’s most exciting new Japanese spot. dancerobot is inspired by kissaten comfort food and konbini culture, blending Japanese diner classics with Justin’s own Philly-rooted story and love of 7/11 egg sandos 🥪.

🏙️ We also welcomed Eric Scheffer of The Scheffer Group with over 25 years shaping Asheville, NC city’s dining scene, Eric shared insights on leadership in hospitality, community resilience after Hurricane Helene, and what it really takes to build loyalty and longevity in independent restaurants.

Stopped by Primo Water Ice in Haddon Township, NJ, and it was an absolute treat. This local shop offers an impressive variety of flavors, from classic water ice to creamy gelati blends and rich soft-serve options. I tried a mix of cherry and blue rasberry water ice, and it was incredibly refreshing, smooth, and bursting with flavor. The prices were super reasonable, especially for the generous portions, and the overall vibe of the place was fun and welcoming. If you’re in the area and looking for a sweet, affordable way to cool off, Primo is a must-visit.

This place is pretty hidden. If you weren’t looking to go here, you might never even know it was there. The food was worth finding though. The pizza was good, the wings were meaty and delicious, and their salad was nice. They are for sure above average than the normal pizza place.
