I have never seen even a single episode of ‘The Office’. After visiting Scranton, PA that will probably change. The downtown area of Scranton is extremely charming with lots of boutique shops, museums, things to do, wonderful spa at Alexander’s Salon & Spa, and VERY delicious places to eat around every corner. I highly recommend a visit. For those seeking outdoor adventure during your stay, Montage Mountain is conveniently located just 10 minutes away. It truly is the best of both worlds.

Bartari – Scranton, PA

This place is just a fun time serving delicious food. If you can’t enjoy yourself here you just may not be able to enjoy yourself anywhere. I had the Panko Crusted Zucchini Planks with Parmesan and Marinara, and Fried Chicken & Waffle with Crispy Boneless Dark Meat, Buttermilk Waffle, Hot Honey Drizzle, and Maple Syrup. Both were fantastic.

The Original Coney Island of Scranton -100 Cedar Ave – Scranton, PA

This place is about as old school as you can get. Love the ambiance and feel of the place, and better yet they are serving awesome Texas Wieners and Texas Cheeseburgers. The gravy fries were decent, but if they served shoestring fries or fresh cut fries with the gravy I wouldn’t ever leave. Worth a visit for sure!

The 16th Ward – Scranton, PA

This is a cool get together destination with a well curated drink menu, nice vibe, innovative menu, and everything was tasty. I had their Toby Goes West drink that went down smooth, Russian style dumplings were so yummy, and balsamic beef grilled cheese with fries. Great place to chill while enjoying good food.

Cooper’s Seafood House – Scranton, PA

You could spend all day here just walking around the restaurant as it is a mix of an antique store/history museum. It is an experience to dine here and every seat and inch of the place is a feast for the eyes. The best part is that the food is really good here too. I enjoyed their Maryland Crab Bisque, Shark Bites that come with a cool pin for those trying shark for the first time, Rhode Island Little Neck Clams, and a Crab Cake Sandwich with fries.

The Railyard Restaurant & Bar – Scranton, PA

This place offers elevated pub food with friendly service and a neighborhood hangout feel. I did have an issue with my meal, but they went far above and beyond to correct it, send it out again, and an offer of free dessert that I couldn’t accept as I was so full and couldn’t eat another bite. They did exactly what any decent and respectable establishment should, and it made the bump in the road into a positive experience. Job well done! I enjoyed their fried pickles, house made chicken tenders and fries, and strip steak entree. Everything was delicious and I left happy.

Carmen’s 2.0 Restaurant & World Tour – Scranton, PA

Situated inside the Radisson Lackawanna Station Hotel, dining here is just breathtakingly beautiful. Even better was the food was good too. I had their cannoli french toast that is like a decadent dessert to start your day. This is a must visit for anyone visiting Scranton just for the view.

Casey’s Corner – Sranton, PA

Located inside Hilton Downtown Scranton Hotel and Conference Center is Casey’s Corner. It was a good breakfast buffet, but the real attraction is Chef Carl. He makes everyone feel welcome, funny, and willing to make sure everything is how you want it. You can feel his passion and dedication and it was great to meet him.

Thai Rak Thai – Scranton, PA

This is a large restaurant, but they are only take-out during my visit. With the looks of things the dining room won’t be opening back up anytime soon as they had full tables throughout the place labeled with different food delivery service providers with bags of food waiting to be picked up and delivered. I had their Thai Dumplings, Thai Buffalo Wings, and pork Pad See Aew. I would be interested to try some other items on their menu to see what their best dish is.
