Stopped by Primo Water Ice in Haddon Township, NJ, and it was an absolute treat. This local shop offers an impressive variety of flavors, from classic water ice to creamy gelati blends and rich soft-serve options. I tried a mix of cherry and blue rasberry water ice, and it was incredibly refreshing, smooth, and bursting with flavor. The prices were super reasonable, especially for the generous portions, and the overall vibe of the place was fun and welcoming. If you’re in the area and looking for a sweet, affordable way to cool off, Primo is a must-visit.

Stopped by Crust N Fire in Maple Shade, NJ, and had a great time! 🍕 This friendly spot (one of several in South Jersey) offers a solid menu with something for everyone. I tried the pizza, cheesesteak, and BBQ burger with fries. Everything was tasty and satisfying, and their in-house soda added a nice touch to the meal. Definitely a great choice for a casual bite with a laid-back vibe! 🍔🍟🍕 #CrustNFire #MapleShadeEats #SouthJerseyEats #CasualDining

2025 Cooperstown Dreams Park and Surrounding Area Casual Dining Guide: What to Know and Where to Eat

There’s a reason they call baseball players “the boys of summer.” Between the heat, humidity, sweat, and sun, everything seems to come together to make America’s pastime shine at its peak. For a select and lucky group of 12U boys and girls, the summer dream often culminates in a trip to Cooperstown Dreams Park, a destination that’s seen countless MLB stars hone their skills on these very fields. As you watch the All-Star Game or World Series, it’s fun to think that many of the players in the biggest games of the year were once 12-year-olds just like the ones out there now competing at Cooperstown Dreams Park.
But this place isn’t just about baseball, it’s a throwback. It’s a return to a simpler time, free from the distractions of today’s high-intensity travel tournaments. You won’t hear any loud walk-up music or see showboating, and there’s no alcohol on the grounds. The emphasis here is on sportsmanship, teamwork, and good vibes. Instead of being glued to their screens, kids are out there swapping pins, playing wiffleball, and making memories. With over 100 teams competing every week, the complex is designed in such a way that it never feels overcrowded. And the snack and retail lines? They’re never too long, except of course during the chaos of bunk setup, Opening Ceremonies, and Closing Ceremonies.
Best of all? The kids spend the entire week at the park eating, sleeping, playing, and bonding over baseball. They don’t need much else.
Helpful Tips for Your Trip:
First Day Tip: Be prepared for a bit of a long hike from the parking area when setting up your child’s bunk. The lines move quickly, but there will still be crowds, so just take a deep breath and be patient.
Weather: Be ready for any kind of weather, including unexpected delays. Games will happen, rain or shine, and they’ll find a way to squeeze everything in no matter the hour.
Packing Light: You don’t need to bring a ton of gear. Most fields only have a parents’ dugout with chairs for viewing. A few select fields might have bleachers in the outfield, but for the most part, you’ll be in a parents dugout.
Prices and Water: Yes, everything is a bit on the pricey side, but that’s the nature of any sporting event. Luckily, there are tons of places nearby where you can grab a bite to eat, probably at better prices and higher quality than what’s at the park. There are no public water fountains or water bottle refilling stations, so again plan properly around the area.
Food: The kids might say the food isn’t the greatest, but don’t worry they’ll survive! Stock up on snacks and drinks during your visit to the bunk and keep the supply chain open throughout the week. Let them eat all the junk they can for a week and have fun doing it.
Plan for Fun, Not Over-Scheduling: Don’t book too many meals or activities outside the park. A visit to the Hall of Fame and one team meal is more than enough. The majority of the kids will just want to hang out at the park, and forcing them to leave midweek can be a drag. Plus, unpredictable weather and fluctuating team schedules might force you to stay flexible.
Closing Ceremonies: Don’t skip out on the closing ceremonies! They’re short, sweet, and full of joy. Even if your team doesn’t win, watching the kids walk up to receive their rings will make the entire trip worthwhile. But heads up, after the ceremony, many teams will be heading out, so be prepared to return your child to your accommodations that you are staying at afterward as they probably won’t be returning to their bunk more than likely.
Main Street: Only 10 minutes away from Dreams Park, Main Street in Cooperstown is full of charm and is a great place to explore. Don’t just sit around between games, go shop, dine, and enjoy the atmosphere and beautiful lake.
Dining Destinations You Can’t Miss:
1. Hawkeye Bar & Grill at The Otesaga Resort – Cooperstown, NY
Nestled along the waterfront, The Otesaga Resort offers a historic backdrop with a spectacular dining experience. The resort’s charm dates back to 1909, and the views from the restaurant are absolutely stunning. While sipping on a Pink Garden Club, a refreshing mix of Tanqueray Gin, basil, watermelon syrup, and lime, I enjoyed some seriously mouthwatering dishes. The Jerk Chicken Wings with charred pineapple chutney were a flavor explosion, while the Butcher’s Meatloaf which is beef, house-made Italian sausage, mashed potatoes, and roasted garlic herbed au jus was pure comfort food. But the real winner? The Just A Cheeseburger, one of the best burgers I’ve had in ages!
2. Blue Mingo Grill & Sam Smith’s Boatyard – Cooperstown, NY
If you’re looking for waterside dining with a view of Kingfisher Tower, then Blue Mingo Grill is your spot. The Kingfisher Tower is a stunning, century-old structure built by industrialist F.W. Brown, and it still stands proudly along the lake. Enjoying a Brewery Ommegang Oak-Aged Watermelon Kolsch brewed just 20 minutes away paired perfectly with a perfectly cooked NY Strip Steak alongside sautéed broccoli rabe and potato au gratin. To cap it off, the Profiterole dessert was divine.
3. Lake Front Restaurant – Cooperstown, NY
This cozy lakeside spot is only a block away from the Baseball Hall of Fame, so it’s easy to swing by for a meal. The restaurant offers great views of Lake Otsego, and you can rent a fishing rod for only $12 if you feel like trying your luck and just short walk from Council Rock Park. For a unique experience, take a ride on the Glimmerglass Queen Tour Boat right after your meal. The Crab Stuffed Gulf Shrimp with Cajun cream sauce, mashed sweet potatoes, and sautéed green beans hit the spot.
4. Sal’s Pizzeria – Cooperstown, NY
Tucked away from the hustle of Main Street, Sal’s Pizzeria is a hidden gem with fantastic pizza and an amazing outdoor seating area. The plain pizza was simple yet satisfying.
5. Mt Fuji Sushi & Hibachi – Cooperstown, NY
Looking for a change of pace? Head to Mt Fuji for some delightful sushi and hibachi. The Rock ‘N’ Roll (eel, salmon skin, and avocado) was a tasty twist on a classic roll, and the Chicken Hibachi Fried Rice was the perfect side to round out the meal.
6. Stagecoach Coffee – Cooperstown, NY
This family-owned café is a must-visit for coffee lovers. The espresso was rich, bold, and fresh. Just what you need to start your day right. The service was as friendly as the coffee was good.
7. Schneider’s Bakery – Cooperstown, NY
This old-fashioned bakery serves up cinnamon doughnuts and other freshly baked goods that are perfect for a morning pick-me-up. A real local favorite!
8. Cooper’s Barn – Cooperstown, NY
For a more casual vibe close to Dreams Park, Cooper’s Barn is your go-to for BBQ, milkshakes, and custom-blended ice cream. I couldn’t resist the vanilla milkshake, which was perfectly creamy and indulgent.
9. Main Street Ice Cream – Cooperstown, NY
What’s cooler than getting your ice cream in a baseball cap? At Main Street Ice Cream next to Seventh Inning Stretch, you can choose from a selection of hats to hold your ice cream in. I went with the Philadelphia Phillies cap and enjoyed a scoop of Perry’s Ice Cream, a local favorite.
10. The Inside Scoop – Cooperstown, NY
If you’re in the mood for ice cream late at night, The Inside Scoop has you covered. They offer Hershey’s Ice Cream and have late hours, so you can satisfy your sweet tooth even after a long day at the park. I had a strawberry milkshake that was exactly what I needed after a long day.
11. Fly Creek Cider Mill & Orchard – Fly Creek, NY
If you have time for a short drive, make sure to stop by the historic Fly Creek Cider Mill. It’s a water-powered cider mill that’s been around since 1856. Try their freshly pressed cider, apple cider doughnuts, and take a stroll through their charming orchard.
12. Jerry’s Place – Hartwick, NY
For a fun and retro experience, head to Jerry’s Place. This ice cream parlor and American grill offers everything from burgers and fries to arcade games. It’s a great spot to relax and grab a bite. The burgers were delicious, and the service was incredibly friendly.
13. Hartwick Restaurant – Hartwick, NY
A small, family-friendly restaurant that’s perfect for a laid-back meal. The owner does everything here, and he’s one of the kindest people you’ll meet. I had the Vegetable Soup with warm bread and Chicken Parmesan, and it was comforting and delicious. It may not be fancy, but it’s definitely worth the visit.
Cooperstown isn’t just about baseball, it’s about enjoying the local flavor, both in food and in experience. Whether you’re grabbing a quick bite between games or taking time to explore the charm of Cooperstown, there’s always something delicious waiting.

Recently visited Ocean City, MD and let me tell you, this place is packed with dining options for every taste. Whether you’re craving seafood, comfort food, Caribbean flavors, or just a sweet treat, OCMD has it all. 👇
🦀 Ropewalk – Ocean City, MD
Perfect for serious seafood fans. I started with their Maryland Crab Soup — classic and delicious. Then came the Crawfish Steamer, the Deadliest Steampot (featuring snow crab legs), and the Maine Lobster Steamer. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and cooked just right.
🌊 Harborside Bar & Grill – Ocean City, MD
Home of the original Orange Crush! Where it all started and now the official drink of Maryland! This laid-back waterfront spot was a must-visit. I had the Broiled Seafood Platter, which was a combo of jumbo lump crab cake, flounder, jumbo shrimp, and sea scallops, all served with a baked potato and green beans. A seafood lover’s paradise.
🔥 Northside Pit & Pub – Ocean City, MD
Talk about comfort food done right. The Fried Chicken Platter came with mashed potatoes smothered in gravy and a side of collard greens. The chicken was crispy on the outside, juicy inside, a true southern-style meal that hit the spot.
🏝️ Seacrets – Ocean City, MD
This place is a party any time of day! It’s a massive, vibrant spot right on the bay with tropical vibes and even better food. I went all out with:
Jerk Chicken Appetizer: Tenderloin marinated for 48 hours in their spicy jerk blend.
Seacrets Famous Steamed Shrimp: Jumbo shrimp with that classic seafood seasoning.
Brown Stew Chicken: Rich, savory, and full of flavor with red beans, rice, and plantains.
Petit Filet topped with lump crab meat, served with mashed potatoes and fried plantains. Everything was packed with flavor and the vibe was unforgettable.
🍦 Dumser’s Dairyland – Ocean City, MD
No trip to Ocean City is complete without Dumser’s! Since 1939, they’ve been serving up homemade ice cream and I had to go for a cup of their classic twist soft serve. A sweet ending to an amazing food journey.
If you’re heading to Ocean City, go hungry. There’s something for everyone and the food scene is just as memorable as the beaches! 🌅🍴🦞
