Whether you’re seeking a taste of the Caribbean or want to explore new and exciting flavors, Jameridad Caribbean Cuisine provides a delightful culinary journey through the region’s diverse and mouthwatering dishes. The signature dish I like to order is jerk chicken, a spicy and smoky grilled chicken marinated with a blend of herbs and spices and it did not disappoint here, but was just a tad dry. The Jamaican cabbage was a flavorful and colorful medley of vegetables. It offered a balance of tastes, combining the natural sweetness of the cabbage and carrots with the savory notes from the onions, garlic, and spices. The rice and peas were cooked perfectly as well. The only wish would be for more sauce as they only provide two tiny cups of sauce, but I’ll know to ask for more if and when I go back.

The Rancocas Woods area has lots of craft shows, fairs, and other events regularly. You can even visit most days to check out the stores and other establishments around the area with a quick stroll around the complex. A quick stop if hungry is the The Hot Dog Shack and they are putting out nice hot dogs, soft pretzels, and fresh squeezed lemonade at a decent price point. I went with the chili dog that hit the spot. You should explore this area if you have never been.

Happy to talk to Christine Flynn the proprietor of Good Earth Food and Wine and a partner at The Good Earth Farm. She is a chef partner with Zing Pantry Shortcuts and her Buzz Hot Honey is available nationally. We’ll talk about her National Bestselling cooking ‘A Generous Meal: Modern Recipes for Dinner’ published by Penguin Random House Canada. In A Generous Meal, Christine Flynn shows us—contrary to popular belief—that you don’t need a lot of time, money, or know-how to make good food. A simple potato can transform a so-so day into something special, a soup can warm you in more ways than one, and baking a chocolate cake is just another way of shouting, “I love you!” at the top of your lungs. A Generous Meal is a modern cookbook of over 100 recipes that anyone—from a novice to an experienced chef like Christine—can use to whip up restaurant-quality meals with ease.

The 4th Annual Haddonfield Restaurant Week was held February 28 – March 5, 2023. It seems the event is becoming more popular each year. The downtown area was hustling and bustling during our visit with most eateries packed with patrons. I visited Anthony Lipot’s restaurant Wanda BYOB. They really put out a nice selection for restaurant week and think the items could or should be put on their regular menu. I enjoyed escargot pithivier which is heritage pork, pistachios, chartreuse, burgundy snails, puffy pastry, and tomato coulis that was just a delight and something different I have never had before, Thai Red Curry Mussels kaffir lime, ginger, red curry paste, coconut milk, thai basil, and grilled bread (this was not part of the restaurant week menu, but wanted to try and it was a good choice), entree of braised pork cheeks with braised collards greens and a potato torta that was so flavorful that each bite was a delight, and the creme brulee to finish it off which was really good. Service was quick, friendly and would happily return to dine there again.

I have a feeling this is the future of dining. Founded in 2020, The Hub aims to unify modern takes on traditional Asian cuisine with a community-centric food hall. You order at one location, and even though their are about 10 vendors to choose from you can order something from every one of the vendors at a centrally located kiosk and have it all prepared and ready at the same time from a single window. It’s like a walk-in ghost kitchen. The place was booming with people dining in and they were doing an amazing food delivery business of big orders being picked up by 3rd party companies to go. I got a little mix of everything at the hall. The prices were very affordable and portion sizes were huge. Great concept here and know it is going to spread to other areas as proven with the South Jersey opening of FoodieHall in Cherry Hill.
