I have a feeling this is the future of dining. Founded in 2020, The Hub aims to unify modern takes on traditional Asian cuisine with a community-centric food hall. You order at one location, and even though their are about 10 vendors to choose from you can order something from every one of the vendors at a centrally located kiosk and have it all prepared and ready at the same time from a single window. It’s like a walk-in ghost kitchen. The place was booming with people dining in and they were doing an amazing food delivery business of big orders being picked up by 3rd party companies to go. I got a little mix of everything at the hall. The prices were very affordable and portion sizes were huge. Great concept here and know it is going to spread to other areas as proven with the South Jersey opening of FoodieHall in Cherry Hill.

Great meal here. I had the jerk chicken with rice and peas and cabbage. The service was above and beyond friendly, food was delicious, and serving size was overflowing. You could tell the chicken was smoked with a nice smoke ring in every bite, rice was fresh, and veggies were crisp and high quality. Without a doubt one of the better Jamaican / Caribbean dining destinations in South Jersey and if you haven’t tried them you should.

This is an old school rest stop with all the crazy tourist things you can think of and some more you couldn’t ever imagine for better or worse. The food here was quick, cheap, and somewhat enjoyable. Had cheeseburgers, hot dog, and fries.

Friendly service at reasonable prices. The bacon, egg, and cheese on an onion bagel was pretty darn good also. If in the area they are worth stopping by.

A nice slice can be had from Attilio’s Pizza & Pasta if you are in a rush during downtown shopping or events in Pitman, New Jersey. There are plenty of seats and picnic benches across the street in the park to enjoy the meal while enjoying the outdoors on a nice day.

This place was great from start to finish. The service was really nice and everyone made you feel welcome and business appreciated. Best part the pizza was AWESOME! I enjoyed ‘The Brooklyn’ pizza which is the perfect amount of sauce and cheese, and like they say it is well done, but not burnt. If you haven’t tried them you definitely should to see if you’ll enjoy as well,

Chef Zhang is one of those Jersey gems hidden in a nondescript strip mall. They not only have a very diverse menu, but their take-out is something I haven’t seen since my visits in China. They provide you food storage containers that are completely sealed and not able to be opened without using the aluminum pull-tabs. The bicycle food delivery drivers in China use these containers as they allow complete freshness, keeping the food warm, and easily stack-able for transport until it arrives at its destination. It adds a special touch and unique flair at Chef Zhang. The food was fantastic as well. Every dish was delicious and I highly enjoyed each one. I had pork soup dumplings, Shangdong braised chicken, tinfoil beef, toothpick lamb, dry fried green beans, chicken dry pot, and roast pork fried rice. Give them a try, I sure you’ll find something you like.

This place was a delight. Just when you find a great ramen they go above and beyond with an amazing fried rice. I had their Mini Combo with Fried Rice which is a Mini shoyu ramen and small Japanese fried rice. The shoyu ramen has soy sauce. 2 pieces charsiu, fish cake, spinach, bamboo, wood ear mushroom, and scallion. The ramen really hit the spot, but the surprise was the extremely flavorful Japanese fried rice. This truly was the perfect combo. Highly recommend a visit.

America’s history is not always bright and rosy. Charleston, South Carolina is one such area that has some terrible stories and traditions that took place previously. The past certainly is not forgotten, but it is there for us to remember and never forget so that such atrocities cannot happen again and highly recommend visiting the museums and historical places of the city and surrounding area. You can do and see many things while there, but they have recently been recognized as a culinary destination on top of a lot of other things they are doing well today for arts, entertainment, and recreation. Below are some places I enjoyed while there:
Amen Street Fish & Raw Bar – Charleston, SC
Really nice place and great good. Enjoyed the she-crab soup and shrimp with grits.
Ellis Creek Fish Camp – Charleston, SC
Very cool waterfront dining with great food. Had the calamari and their 3 piece grilled seafood platter with fried oysters and collard greens that were out of this world delicious.
Brown Dog Deli – Charleston, SC
Fun place with nice service, prices, and tasty french dip sandwich.
Handy and Hot – Charleston, SC
Flat out one of the best breakfast biscuit sandwich I’ve ever had. This thing is AWESOME! From celebrity Chef Vivian Howard I can only hope she expands this treat up to the Philadelphia area. It was their country ham biscuit sandwich with vanilla bean lemonade.
Poogan’s Smokehouse – Charleston, SC
Had a lot of fun here with a nice ambiance to the place. Had the cornbread, collard greens, and pulled pork slider.
Charleston Crab House – Charleston, SC
Good old school eatery. Had their Charleston red rice with a fried green tomato.
Christophe Artisan Chocolatier – Charleston, SC
This place is worth the visit just to see all the many creations of treats they make like the red high heels made of chocolate. On top of looking great they taste great as well.
Lil’ Yum Yums – City Market – Charleston, SC
A good snack to enjoy while shopping the City Market’s many blocks of vendors. Had the cinnamon and sugar mini donuts.
Shem Creek Crab House – Mt Pleasant, SC
Another location with a great view while dining. I had their she-crab soup that was really good, U-peel them shrimp, and Chef Terrell’s Famous Cajun Shrimp & Grits.
