Sushi To Go in Voorhees, NJ is a convenient take-out only sushi spot that promises quick service and affordable prices. This eatery caters to sushi on the go, offering a no-frills experience that won’t break the bank. The menu was concise, featuring a selection of classic sushi rolls and a few additional options like the chicken teriyaki meal. Opting for a sampling of their sushi rolls, I settled on a few favorites and eagerly awaited my order. The rolls arrived promptly, neatly packaged and ready to devour. While nothing out of the ordinary, each roll was fresh and flavorful, with a satisfying balance of fish, rice, and fillings. In addition to the sushi rolls, I also sampled the chicken teriyaki meal—a hearty option for those seeking something beyond sushi. Chicken was grilled and smothered in a teriyaki sauce, served alongside a generous portion of steamed rice and crisp vegetables. While basic, it was a satisfying and filling meal that hit the spot.

Nestled along the Black Horse Pike in Sicklerville, NJ, Liscio’s Italian Bakery & Deli of Cross Keys is more than just a bakery. From its humble beginnings, where Liscio’s founder’s grandmother, with her timeless charm and dedication, swept the floors and shared smiles with patrons, to the bustling present-day establishment, the essence of familial warmth and passion for quality endures. Though time has passed, and loved ones have bid farewell, their spirit lives on in every loaf of bread and culinary creation that graces Liscio’s counters.

Today, as the aroma of freshly baked goods fills the air, patrons can still sense the dedication that has been a hallmark of Liscio’s since day one. With three locations now proudly serving the community, including the original Cross Keys spot, Liscio’s remains a bastion of artisanal craftsmanship and unwavering enthusiasm.

On a recent visit, I had their chicken parm sandwich. While it certainly satisfied my cravings, other offerings and treats may be best or it could have been on off day. The price point was good and all the treats you are able to purchase to enjoy are a plus on any visit here.

Dragon Nest, an institution in Clarksboro, New Jersey, for over 30 years just recently reopened in restaurant dining. I had Hunan Beef, a blend of beef, crisp vegetables, and a spicy, tangy sauce that was pretty good. The fried rice, a staple of any Chinese take-out joint, was a cut above the rest. Light and fluffy grains of rice were tossed with savory soy sauce, scrambled eggs, and a medley of vegetables, resulting in a dish that was bursting with flavor and texture. It was the perfect accompaniment to the Hunan Beef. The steamed dumplings and egg roll were decent as well. Next time you’re in the mood for Chinese take-out, if you’re in the area you may want to pay a visit to Dragon Nest in Clarksboro, New Jersey.

Dunlop’s Bar and Grill – Sewell, NJ

Dunlop’s Bar and Grill – Sewell, NJ

Small Bites Radio has been named Top Hospitality Shows on the Planet from 2020 – 2024, #Bluejeanfood.com named Top Philadelphia Best Philadelphia Lifestyle Blogs and Websites from 2021-2024, Best Philly Food Blogs and Websites 2023-24, Top 25 Philly Food RSS Feeds in 2024, nominated by Metro Philly Newspaper 2022-24 Best of Philadelphia Arts & Entertainment, and WINNER of Metro Philly Newspaper Best of Philadelphia Arts & Entertainment in 2023 and 2024.

Welcome to Dunlop’s Bar and Grill, a surprising culinary gem nestled within the heart of a hockey rink arena in Sewell, New Jersey. While one might not expect to find a full-service restaurant and bar in such a venue, Dunlop’s defies expectations with its inviting ambiance and delectable offerings.

Let’s start with the star of the show: the food. I had the pleasure of indulging in a trio of classics that left me thoroughly impressed. First up, the cheesesteak—a quintessential Philadelphia favorite. Dunlop’s rendition did not disappoint, boasting tender slices of steak smothered in gooey melted cheese, all nestled within a soft hoagie roll. It was a hearty and satisfying dish that hit all the right notes. Next, I sampled the poutine as my side a Canadian delicacy that has been gaining popularity across the States. Dunlop’s take on this classic dish was very good. Crispy fries were smothered in rich gravy and topped with generous chunks of cheese curds, creating a decadent and indulgent treat that left me craving more.

And let’s not forget about the hot and honey wings—a true crowd-pleaser that combines the perfect balance of heat and sweetness. Each wing was perfectly cooked to crispy perfection and coated in a sticky glaze that had just the right amount of kick. It was a flavor explosion that left me reaching for another wing before I even realized it.

What truly sets Dunlop’s apart, however, is its unbeatable combination of quality and value. Despite its unexpected location within a hockey rink arena, Dunlop’s offers above-average fare at a surprisingly decent price point. Whether you’re grabbing a bite before a game or simply looking for a delicious meal in a unique setting, Dunlop’s Bar and Grill delivers on all fronts.

Tarantini’s Original Panzarotti Gobbler at Franco’s Place – Haddon Township, NJ

A Thanksgiving Feast with a Twist – The Tarantini’s Original Panzarotti Gobbler

Franco’s Place – Haddon Township, NJ

As Thanksgiving approaches and we start gearing up for our annual feast of turkey, stuffing, and all the sides, there’s one spot in Haddon Township, NJ, that makes waves annually this time of year for offering a unique spin on the holiday’s most iconic dish. It’s the Tarantini’s Original Panzarotti Gobbler at Franco’s Place, and trust me, if you haven’t had it yet, you’re missing out on something truly extraordinary.

The Gobbler: A Flavor Explosion You’ll Be Grateful For

If you think you’ve had the ultimate Thanksgiving meal, think again. The Tarantini’s Original Panzarotti Gobbler takes everything you love about the holiday – turkey, stuffing, cranberry sauce (inside or on the side) and stuffs it all inside a delicious, golden, perfectly crispy, and pillow-soft dough. It’s a warm, comforting, handheld masterpiece. While many Thanksgiving dishes get drowned in sauce, here, you get to dip your crispy Panzarotti in the tart sweetness of cranberry sauce if you choose on the side, adding a perfect balance of flavors. The combination of savory turkey and stuffing with the sharpness of the cranberry is just next-level. It’s not just a meal; it’s a celebration of everything wonderful about the season, wrapped up in a delicious bundle.

What makes this dish even more special is that Franco’s Place is the only place offering this twist on the classic Panzarotti. Their take on the dish is exclusive, and once you try it, you’ll understand why it’s worth the trip to Haddon Township.

The History Behind the Tarantini’s Original Panzarotti

To truly appreciate the Gobbler version of the Panzarotti, you have to understand the history behind the iconic dish. The Panzarotti was created by the Tarantini family, Italian immigrants who brought their culinary traditions with them to the United States. The concept of the Panzarotti is a bit like a deep-fried calzone, filled with delicious ingredients like mozzarella, tomato, and various meats. It’s a staple in Italian-American cuisine, and its origin traces back to the Tarantinis’ roots in Italy.

Tarantini’s Panzarotti became a beloved dish, gaining a loyal following for its crispy exterior and rich, flavorful interior. Franco’s Place, known for its devotion to quality and authenticity, embraced the Tarantini family’s recipe and brought it to a wider audience. Over the years, they’ve maintained the Panzarotti’s classic qualities while also experimenting with new and creative flavors — and that’s where the Gobbler version shines.

By adding Thanksgiving staples like turkey, stuffing, and cranberry sauce to the Panzarotti, Franco’s has taken a beloved dish and turned it into the ultimate holiday-inspired comfort food. Whether you’re craving something festive before the big day or you just want to experience something totally unique, this is the way to go.

Franco’s Place

This family-owned destination in Haddon Township is a local institution, and for good reason. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, the service was friendly. Franco’s Place is known for its pizza, pasta, and of course, the famous Panzarotti, but it’s their willingness to experiment with new dishes and flavor combinations that keeps diners coming back for more.

The commitment to quality ingredients and authentic recipes is evident in every bite, and the Tarantini’s Original Panzarotti Gobbler is the perfect example of their creative approach to traditional comfort food. It’s one of those rare dishes that makes you feel like you’re getting a sneak peek into the future of Thanksgiving meals. It might just become a must-have item on every holiday menu!

Get Your Gobbler Fix Before It’s Gone

If you’re looking to kick off your holiday season with a twist and indulge in something truly special, Franco’s Place and the Tarantini’s Original Panzarotti Gobbler are calling your name. With its perfect balance of crispy, savory, and sweet, this dish will get you fired up for Thanksgiving and maybe even change the way you think about the holiday meal forever. Washington, DC

Exploring the Flavors of Washington DC: A Culinary Adventure

Washington DC is a city brimming with history, culture, and an impressive array of culinary delights. My recent trip to the nation’s capital was a whirlwind of delicious experiences, and I’m excited to share the highlights of this flavorful journey with you. Washington DC is a city that not only offers rich historical and cultural experiences but also a vibrant and diverse food scene. Each meal I enjoyed was a testament to the city’s culinary excellence, and I’m already looking forward to my next visit to explore more of what DC has to offer. From iconic chili dogs to innovative pizza pies, here’s a rundown of some of the standout meals I enjoyed.

Ben’s Chili Bowl – Washington, DC

No visit to DC is complete without a stop at Ben’s Chili Bowl, an institution in its own right. I sampled the Ben’s Original Half Smoke, a delectable blend of pork and beef served on a warm, steamed bun with mustard, onions, and their homemade spicy chili sauce. The half smoke was perfectly spiced, with the chili adding a delightful kick. Accompanied by a crisp bag of chips, a juicy hamburger, and a generous order of fries, this meal was the epitome of comfort food. Ben’s Chili Bowl is a must-visit for anyone wanting to taste a piece of DC history.

Hill Country Barbecue Market – Washington, DC

For those who love barbecue, Hill Country Barbecue Market is a gem. I opted for the Cue & 2, featuring tender ribs and succulent brisket. The dish came with sides of cornbread, collard greens, baked beans, and a side of BBQ chicken. Each component was expertly prepared—the ribs were smoky and flavorful, while the brisket melted in my mouth. The collard greens and baked beans were the perfect accompaniments, adding a touch of Southern charm to the meal.

Andy’s Pizza NOMA – Washington, DC

If pizza is your thing, Andy’s Pizza in NOMA should be on your list. The Pepperoni Special Pie was a standout, with red sauce, mozzarella, crispy ‘roni cups, creamy burrata, fresh basil, a drizzle of hot honey, and a sprinkle of parmigiano. The combination of spicy pepperoni, sweet hot honey, and the richness of burrata created a pizza that was both unique and incredibly satisfying.

The Bistro at Courtyard Washington, DC/U.S. Capitol – Washington, DC

For a hearty breakfast, The Bistro offered a classic American start to the day. I enjoyed fried eggs served with multigrain bread, crispy bacon, and home fries. The simplicity of the meal was elevated by the quality of the ingredients, making it a perfect breakfast to fuel a day of exploring.

Sweet Home Café – Washington, DC

Located within the National Museum of African American History and Culture, Sweet Home Café is more than just a museum eatery—it’s a culinary experience. The fried chicken was crispy and flavorful, while the collard greens and mac and cheese were comforting and well-seasoned. Each dish told a story of Southern hospitality and tradition.

Old Ebbitt Grill – Washington, DC

A classic DC establishment, Old Ebbitt Grill did not disappoint. I started with a refreshing Gin Rikey and a jumbo shrimp cocktail that was perfectly chilled. The crab cake was a highlight, served with fries that were crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. The BACON-HORSERADISH GLAZED MEATLOAF, accompanied by whipped Yukon gold potatoes, Swiss chard, and remini mushrooms in a rich bordelaise sauce, was a hearty and indulgent dish that showcased the restaurant’s commitment to quality and flavor.

The Creamery at Union Market – Washington, DC
