With most minds in the month of February thinking about chocolate there is no better destination than RIM Cafe for your chocolate needs. From the hot chocolate this is just out of this world, to the Bella Chocolate Heaven Bar with house made caramel, Peanut Butter, salty peanuts, and pretzels in a chocolate bar, to the large chocolate cannoli which is imported Sicilian Cannoli shell, dipped in our dark chocolate and filled with traditional house made ricotta & mascarpone cream, and dusted with powdered sugar. RIM Cafe may be overshadowed by their better known neighbors Geno’s and Pat’s Steaks, but no visit to this area is complete without a treat from them as well for any Philadelphian or visitor.

Operating out of Denim BYOB is Cluckwerks Takeout. You can either order on DoorDash to have delivered or pickup paying with credit card, or call Denim BYOB directly to order and pay with cash if you call Denim directly for pickup. The chicken was delicious in every way in my order. The K-Town Sandwich was by far my favorite with fried chicken, Korean BBQ sauce, Kimchi slaw, and sesame seeds. I could have eaten multiple sandwiches at one sitting. The kid chicken tenders with tator tots was spot on delicious and could taste that the chicken was brined in pickle juice it seemed. The grilled chicken Caesar salad was perfect as well. A great concept and tasty meals coming out of here.

One might equate that something coming out of the rear might be crappy. When you enter from behind it is normally out of the ordinary as you just don’t enter without permission. It could be messy or even stinky back there. The back door is usually just for exit, not entry. This is beginning to change and many are being receptive to having others penetrate this once taboo place to do your business. Well The Farm and Fisherman Tavern has taken the plunge with Back Door Pizza and it’s a well lubed operation. You order online, choose date and time to arrive, go to the rear of the strip mall, knock on door, and you are handed the food and on your way minimal contact or interaction. The highlight of the meal I ordered was having the Buttery Nut in my mouth. The Buttery Nut pizza is local butternut squash, butternut squash puree, fresh mozzarella, sage, and finished with a drizzle of brown butter and just amazing. The plain pizza is delicious as well with three local mozzarellas, pecorino, and tomato sauce. The meal was enjoyable from start to finish and if in the mood, I would certainly come again.

Tucked into a large Jersey style strip mall sits Futomaki. The menu is extensive, but everything I had was decent and a good price point for the quality. Easy online ordering is always a plus. I had the chicken hibachi, clear soup, takoyaki, seaweed salad, kani sushi, unagi sushi, Futomaki Roll, and Dynamite Roll.

Many places are struggling getting take-out correct during these trying and tough times. Well Prawn is doing an amazing job providing a delicious meal at a fantastic price point. Their monthly meal deals have been $50 for a dinner for 2 people and the dinner special I had enjoyed was 4 lobster tails, risotto, roasted veggies, salad, and house baked fresh bread. Add on as well a daily $5 appetizer special that was mussels and all the proceeds of the special are dispersed to a chosen cause, charity or organization , and I also grabbed an order of U-Peel shrimp and a cup of New England Clam Chowder which created a seafood feast. Cape May has been famous for Victorian Houses, lighthouse, a sunken concrete ship, and the beach but Prawn just may be the next must see and do destination.

Right next to the Jackson Premium Outlets and just a short distance from Six Flags Great Adventure is Love Live Sweets. They offer a nice selection of sweets and many other products that they are making fresh daily onsite. I had their honey carmel, chocolate sea salt carmel, vanilla cupcake, and a vanilla milkshake. All were a tasty treat, better than average, and when in the area would certainly stop by again.

Brewed and conditioned with Black Lava Sea Salt, in-house roasted cacao nibs, and Madagascar vanilla beans creating a full & lush body. Uncle Dave’s Homemade Ice Cream located at Shady Brook Farm is a match made in heaven. After enjoying Shady Brook Farm’s Drive-thru Holiday Light Show just stop at the market and enjoy this delicious treat. I had a chocolate ice cream cup and a Vanilla Beanie milkshake. Both were fabulous and some of the best ice cream in the Philadelphia area. There is still time to enjoy this year to bring cheer and if this isn’t a holiday tradition for you and your family, you truly need to make it one. You can thank me later.

These are two completely separate businesses, but just a sampling of locally curated arts and culinary business at the location. Cheese Etc. you just order online and pick a time to pick up your order outside or have delivered and for Pooch Patisserie you can order ahead of time or just stop by and visit their take-out window. At Cheese Etc. I had the Smoked Porter a blend of hickory smoked gouda and cheddar cheese is mixed with mustard, spices and then blended with Forgotten Boardwalk Brewery’s ‘Morro Castle Porter’. I just asked for the take-out window special combo at Pooch Patisserie. Give SOHA Arts Building a try. Your foodie and furry friends will thank you.

Had a really nice meal here. Didn’t know what to expect since they don’t have a website or any social media accounts to learn much about them. This place is going old school with just word of mouth recommendations, no delivery, and no dine-in with take-out only currently and I’m happy I tired them as everything was delicious. I had Thai Wings, Thai Dumplings, Crazy Noodles, Pad Kra Pow, Pad Broccoli, and Crab Fried Rice.
