Joe’s Peking Duck House – Marlton, NJ

Joe’s Peking Duck House – Marlton, NJ

This place is an absolute gem in South Jersey. One of the best Chinese restaurants outside of Chinatown Philadelphia. BEWARE though as they are CASH only. I didn’t know this until the check was served, but they do have an ATM right in the restaurant. Everything I had here was fabulous and delicious. I highly recommend them and their prices are extremely reasonable for the quality that you receive compared to the prices of comparable dishes in Chinatown restaurants. Pictured below is the wonton noodle soup, pan fried dumplings, duck roll, honey roasted pork, Peking duck, pork fried rice, and clams in black bean sauce.

What kind of food do you think of first when you think of Minneapolis? Probably not lobster, but Smack Shack will try to have you change that. Pictured is Connecticut Lobster Roll and it was so yummy. I would eat here again for sure.

Smoke BBQ – Audubon, NJ

Smoke BBQ – Audubon, NJ

Enjoying a nice piece of smoked and seasoned meat is heavenly. Thankfully, Philadelphia has grown quite a bit with destinations to enjoy some good BBQ. Across the bridge in Southern Jersey, it seems the trend is continuing. Smoke BBQ is not exactly new to the neighborhood, but still young enough to be considered a newbie. Well, they are doing a good job in a well decorated restaurant space in the tiny town of Audubon, NJ. The have brought a fine dining sort of feel to the place, yet it is relaxed and enjoyable with classic rock posters adorning the walls and friendly service throughout with decent price points for the meal. I had dry rubbed smoked wings,1\3 rack of ribs with cornbread, and a side of brussel sprouts that really were delicious. They are certainly worthy of a visit.

This place has been in business since 1897 and there is a good reason for that. It’s because Dock’s Oyster House is AWESOME!!!! From the ambiance, service, quality of food, and variety that hit a home run in every category. Really, you have to give this place a try whenever you are in or around the Atlantic City region. Below is what I had and all of them were delicious.

Situated inside of the Claridge Hotel is The Twenties Restaurant. This is like a trip back in time going here with all of the 1920’s themed décor and the view of the beach while dining is stunning. I had breakfast there and it was a pleasant surprise to find scrapple available. Below is what I had:

Two eggs over easy, home fries, bacon, scrapple, and rye toast.

Oh man this place is great and fun. It’s even family friendly which is always an added bonus. They really make the little ones feel at home with special plates and cups. Really enjoyed my meal here. Pictured is TEH-AIS beverage, coconut rice, jasmine rice, Chicken and Goat SATE KAJANG, Pork and Chicken SATE MELAKA, and RENDANG DAGING that was AWESOME!!!! Will be back here for sure.

La Polpetta – Deptford, NJ

La Polpetta – Deptford, NJ

This is a cozy and intimate restaurant away from the main Deptford Mall area. Nice friendly and family like service, and I really enjoyed my lunch here. I had the PORKETTE which is braised pork shoulder, broccoli rabe, and sharp provolone. Others in my party had meatballs, and they really enjoyed all the different variety of them.

The Victor Café – Philadelphia, PA

The Victor Café – Philadelphia, PA

This place is legendary and iconic in the Rocky movies as well as an iconic restaurant in Philadelphia for being around so long. The service is great with amazing opera singing and the food is really good as well. No matter your reason to go, you’ll enjoy your visit for sure. I had the shrimp bisque, clams casino (REALLY GOOD), smelts (also really good), Branzino entree, and creme brulee to finish it off. From start to finish a nice time!
