D and L Coffee Service Inc. and Sysco Corporation CAKE from Sysco at http://www.trycake.com/smallbites to get $750 off activation costs present the #1 listed “Food Radio show Philadelphia”, Small Bites with Donato Marino and Derek Timm of Bluejeanfood.com on Wildfire Radio this Sunday, May 5th at 635pm EST with a stellar lineup.

We are happy to happy welcome Elizabeth Minchilli who is the author of many books on the joys of Italian life. She has written for over 40 magazines, and today shares her passion for Italy through her blog, best-selling apps Eat Italy for iTunes and Android, and through her food tours in Italy. She will join us to talk about her newest book “The Italian Table: Creating festive meals for family and friends” from Rizzoli New York. The Italian Table delivers both parts of the fantasy and reality of Italian meals as they would be eaten on location. Combining menus and recipes with visual experience and inspiration–as well as insight into the traditions of the food and celebrations–it serves as a practical resource that gives home cooks and hosts step-by-step guidance on how to re-create these fabulous meals at their own tables.

Still thinking of Italy, we will have in studio Domenick Crimi the owner of Cappuccio’s Meats in the heart of the 9th Street Italian Market Philadelphia in South Philly Cappuccio’s Meats sells Old-World Style handmade sausages and is an artisanal butchery with cured meats, dry ages steaks, chops, and other cuts of the highest quality meats all butchered on premise and never processed at a third party location. Go and bring Old-World Style and Quality to your modern family’s dinner table.

With warm weather finally arriving, enjoying beverages outdoors is back again. We will have joining us Len Boris the Director of Beverages for Fearless Restaurants to talk about their summer cocktail menu. He oversees great dining destinations like Moshulu, White Dog Cafe, Daddy O Hotel Restaurant, Louie Louie, Tuckers Tavern, Plantation Restaurant and Bar, and Autograph Brasserie. With a passion for food and unique setting, Fearless Restaurants will inspire and delight you with an adventuresome dining experience.

Then trying to revive the East Coast – West Coast rivalry like the old days of rap between Diddy Bad Boy Records and Dr Dre Death Row Records we will have on Cassie Hepler of ExplorewithCassie a lifestyle and travel blog to discuss who is better when it comes to food and drinks. Who will come out on top, the East Coast or West Coast? Hopefully no one gets hurt with this new battle brewing in the culinary world.

Last but certainly not least, we are thrilled to be joined by Venus DeMarco who is an author, motivational speaker, and health coach. It has become her mission to make a positive difference in people’s lives, from the simplest circumstances to many of the most disturbing illnesses facing mankind. In this lifetime, her goal is to motivate people to take their “Health” into their own hands and not wait to change until after they become ill, but instead make wellness and health a priority!

Small Bites Radio’s resident Vegan Food Chef Christina Martin of Cooking to Nourish will also be back in studio for some fun and food talk with us and our guests.

D and L Coffee Service Inc. and Sysco Corporation Sysco Philadelphia Try Cake at http://www.trycake.com/smallbites to get $750 off activation costs present the #1 listed “Food Radio show Philadelphia”, Small Bites with Donato Marino and Derek Timm of Bluejeanfood.com on Wildfire Radio this Sunday, April 28th at 635pm EST.
With Derek away traveling and Donato taking a week off, the show will be hosted by Small Bites Radio’s resident Vegan Chef Christina Martin of Cooking to Nourish for some fun and food talk with the guests.

In studio we are very excited to have return one of our favorite chefs, Food Network Chopped Champion Chef Timothy Witcher who had been delighting hungry diners with his restaurant concept The Wing Kitchen at the Wedgwood Country Club. The Wing Kitchen concentrates on great fresh ingredients, simply crafted by expert hands, but embraces a big bold authentic flavor that transcends the chicken wing. Each box of wings, tenders, and fries is an experience. The first few bites will excite, but licking those salty spices and sweet and savory sauces off the fingers is what will keep you coming back!

Then also in studio will be Barry Galasso, a graduate of the Philadelphia Restaurant School. He has been employed at Camden County Technical Schools as a culinary educator since 1997. In his time at the school there have been many accomplishments by students both individually and in team setting through cooking competitions. He has a passion for creating great flavor profiles for food and sharing that knowledge with his students, family, and friends.

What goes with good food? Wine of course! Well the perfect person to come in studio to talk about wine is Zachary Marcus Cesare Harris. For years, while developing a nice palate for wines and meeting a number of great people in the wine industry, he noticed that not only were there virtually no marketing campaigns directed at people of color, but that very few in the industry were trying to develop and educate these demographics earnestly about wine. So he launched his own wine brand called IkaVina Wine and Spirits LLC. He launched this revolutionary wine label so that he can run it his way, but also to market to and develop the virtually untapped consumer base of African Americans, Latino Americans, and Asian Americans with a woman-centric focus. Harris is also talented in music, photography, multimedia, film and video, and has also authored and published three books with a core focus on the issues of love from a man’s perspective.

Mount Masala Himalayan Cuisine Indian Style Restaurant – Voorhees, NJ

Who knew about Himalayan cuisine? Well not me, but let me tell you after my visit I am a huge fan and will be looking to learn and taste more about it. The Beef Manchurian Dry was phenomenal. So much flavor in every bite, the meat was tender, and cooked to perfection. The Shrimp Hakku Bakku Fried Rice was good, and I would have enjoyed it more with jumbo sized shrimp even if I had to pay a little more, but still was tasty and a great side to have with the beef. They really made the visit feel like I was at home with really friendly service, attention to detail, and helping explain the menu. I don’t know what the rest of the menu is like, but I can tell you this was a great meal.

The #1 listed “Food Radio show Philadelphia”, Small Bites with Glenn Gross and Derek Timm of Bluejeanfood.com on Wildfire Radio is celebrating their 100th episode in style, and since it’s #Halloween this week we promise no tricks from us, only awesome #foodie treats with an amazing lineup! LIVE this Sunday, November 4th at 635pm Small Bites on Wildfire Radio with Derek away in Montreal, Quebec, we figured we’d double your pleasure and brought in studio to co-host the show QVC Guest Host, chef, and SAG-AFTRA Sag-Aftra Philadelphia actor John DiRenzo as well as Small Bites resident Vegan Food Chef Christina Martin of Cooking to Nourish for some fun and food talk with our awesome guests for our 100th show.

We are excited to be joined by Julia della Croce – Forktales cookbook author, journalist, blogger to talk about her new cookbook “Tasting Italy: A Culinary Journey” from National Geographic and America’s Test Kitchen. Featuring 100 innovative, kitchen-tested recipes, 300 gorgeous color photographs, and 30 maps, this illustrated guide takes you on a captivating journey through the rich history of Italian cuisine, region by region. Rich excerpts feature the origins of celebrated cheeses, the nuances of different wine growing regions, the best farmer’s markets in Venice, and more. Intriguing prose illuminates key ingredients, from olive oil and how it’s made to the various pasta shapes of Northern Italy. In every region, the food experts at America’s Test Kitchen bring it all home, with foolproof recipes for standout dishes as well as hidden gems. America’s Test Kitchen is a 15,000-square-foot kitchen located in Boston Seaport District. It is the home of Cook’s Illustrated magazine and Cook’s Country magazine, the public television shows America’s Test Kitchen and Cook’s Country from America’s Test Kitchen, and the online America’s Test Kitchen Cooking School. Julia della Croce is one of America’s foremost authorities on Italian food. Julia is the author of more than 13 cooking and travel books. She has also conducted cultural and culinary tours to Italy. Her work has appeared in many publications including the New York Times, Food & Wine, National Geographic Travel and the Washington Post. She has been broadcast on countless radio and national television shows, including on the Food Network. What a treat!

Also coming on for our 100th episode will be Joanna Saltz the editorial director of Delish.com to talk about new cookbook “Delish: Eat Like Every Day’s the Weekend” from Houghton Mifflin Harcourt. Delish is the fastest-growing food media brand on the internet. They’ve carved a unique niche in the food landscape because the editors are food-lovers first, and home cooks second – not professional chefs. Their how-to food videos have garnered up to 15 billion views! Delish.com speaks to food lovers who don’t fancy themselves chefs—and they do it through helpful, shareable recipes that are as fun to watch as they are to make. Now, they’ve crammed all of that insanity and entertainment into their first-ever cookbook. Inside, you’ll find more than 275 recipes and ideas that are meant to be devoured, not perfected. Joanna Saltz was previously the executive editor of Food Network Magazine and Seventeen Magazine, and is a long-time Diet Coke addict. Sounds like fun to us!

Last, but certainly not least, we are happy to welcome back on the show Wildfire Radio’s Small Bites Live with Tracey Medeiros who is the author of “The Vermont Non-GMO Cookbook: 125 Organic and Farm-to-Fork Recipes from the Green Mountain State” from Skyhorse Publishing, Inc., and it is a 2018 The Readable Feast Cookbook Awards Finalist. Tracey will be in town Saturday, November 17th teaching a cooking class at Audrey Claire Taichman’s COOK. Every guest who attends will receive a signed copy of the cookbook. Tracey also writes The Farmhouse Kitchen: A Guide to Eating Local column for Edible Green Mountains magazine and is also a freelance food writer, food stylist, and recipe developer and tester. She is often seen on various television cooking segments and travels regionally as a guest speaker and cooking instructor, emphasizing her commitment to the sustainable food movement by using locally produced fresh ingredients to create dishes that are healthy and delicious.
